Let's assume Geb was a geomancer. You would have long been dead to poison gas... because that's like 120+ pieces of food. Point? Gas/Mist both make Dreamweavers uber nasty in long, drawn out battles.

There still exists Orange to help delay the effects though, there is nothing you can do to restore your restlessness besides sleeping. I agree that Gas/Narcolepsy would be insane if any Geomancers took Dreamweaving, but alas the admins haven't seen it to be a problem to be worth looking into. sad.gif

All you have to do is fall unconscious once and for the Geomancer to chasm immediately and you are dead (this is how Silvanus killed Daevos/Thorgal in a FFA)... and even with Orange, I normally fall unconscious when it fades because I can regain equilibrium and put it back up... so it may help but it certainly isn't as viable as you make it sound.

Quite honestly, I think poison gas is 100x worse than Dreamweaving sleep skills. Kafe and Metawake may not be a solution for 2 hours straight but they are viable... and once you fall asleep, you can at least immediately awake. You get hit with poison gas once and you are just f*cked.

There's a reason hunger was nerfed in all the other IRE games.

Having it given passively anywhere in a 400-room area...

And that's what scares me the most: it was powered up in Lusternia. Constitution used to completely block it out and it got changed to only resist slickness venom for some reason and it resists feed in Necromancy... I want my damn hunger protection back!

Thorgal died from being chasm while unconscious, but Daevos is Viscanti, poison gas doesn't hurt him. Besides, I believe consciousness in Athletics keeps the knight conscious at all times, but the 2k+ damage from hunger still hurt.

Anyway, since this is about restlessness, give us a cure or something please!

Restlessness isn't an affliction. If you give something that cures it, people will just use it so they don't have to sleep ever... which is dumb.

Bleeding isn't an affliction and yet there exists chervil and clotting, which makes it impossible for Blademasters to rend and kill people. Eating chervils will keep you almost never get beyond bleeding 100 ever... which is dumb!
Shiri2005-04-20 18:25:15
It should just be a discipline skill.

Like, insomnia.

Oh wait, that's taken. How about good ol' Silvanus' 200 mana hyperinsomnia? That oughtta do the trick. tongue.gif

But seriously, a 5p something.

Take lowmagic.

Take herbs.

Harvest all chervil in world.

Buy all the rest.

Rend is no longer underpowered.

Go Mages/Druid, learn Dreamweaving up until you can control when and if you need sleep? Restlessness is no longer overpowered...uh..

Heck, I'll go Hartstone and do both. doh.gif

It is rather silly to compare bleeding to tiredness. People naturally grow tired and thus must sleep. For this reason, any cure for it would be dumb because then people wouldn't ever have to sleep, which is the big perk for getting to level 80.

And guess what, Knights who play it right can do -massive- damage. Ever been hit by Ixion's haymaker? Should he also be able to stack thousands of bleeding on top of that? No.

Have you seen the levels of bleedings from swings or cut arteries? It's freaking 5 to 20 health bleeding! If he does haymaker, he isn't rending your legs or gut. That is to say, if he rends you prior to haymaker, then you could simply quaff down 10 to 20 chervils and not bleed at all.

Maybe a cure would be way too much, but at least there should be a skill to delay your need of sleep. It's annoying to spend the whole fight in an Aquamancer's demesne 75% of the time stunned, sleeping, or black out.

Perhaps if you have metawake up then you resist drowse and mist (but not the power based one)
