HeartPierce

Bodypart: Chest

Wound State: Critical

Maneuver: Thrust-Cut

If the chest is mangled to a critical state, thrusting your blade into the chest will have a chance to pierce the heart and cause devastating damage.

(Basically, if you pull off a successful HeartPierce, which is hard since it's a critical wound, that strike will do an unblockable 45% of the max health in damage)

Example:

3075h, 3975m, 10p ex-
With a focused look, Daevos strikes at you with an exquisitely crafted draconic broadsword. The blade slides between the ribs of your mangled chest, and violently carves into your heart. You nearly black out from the devastating pain.
1737h, 3975m, 10p ex-

This way, even speed knights get a chance of killing immensely tanky fighters, without destroying all chances of low constitution races to survive, thoughts?

I'm going with the leg and arm afflictions needing more work myself, that works though. (Maybe a bit lower than 45% though. I mean, with the doublecut damage as well that's kinda TOO nasty. 30% maybe.)

It takes Murphy or anyone with wound runes 2-3 swings or 1 crush to put a limb at critical...
Thorgal2005-04-09 21:35:13
Murphy...is a bonecrusher, not a blademaster, blademasters don't have crush, and no blademaster can take someone's limb to critical in 2 swings, even with wound runes.
Shiri2005-04-09 21:36:22
Alkriz did a good 20% in wounds to Silvanus at one point, in one combo. And critical is only at like 70% if I remember correctly.
Shamarah2005-04-09 21:37:13
Doesn't lunge = crush?

EDIT: It'd be funny if this was an affliction, though.

It's at 65%.

Bashbrain and Behead are at critical too, and you really don't see them getting pulled off a lot either..
Shiri2005-04-09 21:48:51
They have a low chance of success in addition to the wounds thing, though.
Thorgal2005-04-09 21:57:27
Well, what's stops 'em from giving PierceHeart a low chance of success too, if it turns out overpowered?
Shiri2005-04-09 22:01:09
Fair enough.
Asarnil2005-04-09 22:01:30
I would be in support of this, or if not this, something like it - mainly because Blademasters need an option that isn't ruined by stance lower and parrying head - at least if there is a chest option (which does make sense) it means your opponent has to move things around and think a bit more.

Impalewhore/rendwhore?
Asarnil2005-04-09 22:42:27
Both places where you can impale/rend are protected by stance lower. Kinda makes it impossible to mount anything approaching a consistent offense that way.

You manage against me!
Gwylifar2005-04-10 03:32:03
I like it.

And how often in the ENTIRE history of us fighting have I ever been close to killing you?
