I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.
Singollo2005-04-11 08:49:34
Oh yeah, like editting your post will save you!

Race changes...free reincarnation for everyone? *hopes*
I know, I know. Shutup to me.
It's nice to see the divine/admins listen to the forums and such, and I welcome changes that attempt to balance things.

Hmm, my first thought about the upgrade was 'wow' but then I really wondered. IC it makes sence that faelings are really fast and all but except for slinging runes no faeling in the whole game needs balance anywhere. So in the end this upgrade has technically no effect at all.
Shiri2005-04-11 09:59:32
I guess it means that diminished Faelings will -never- be affected by web related skills, because they don't even get a balance loss from it...
I think it had another bonus for the guild that makes most sense for Faelings, Moondancers. But I can't remember it right now.
Oh, and if they choose to ride that broom (so if they get webbed in midair they don't fall) it costs almost no balance to fly with it.

You don't think the ability to afflict tons faster and recover balance from other afflictions etc faster is an effect?
Shiri2005-04-11 10:07:14
Yes.
But Moondancers don't get runes, so it doesn't happen.

HEh, I am not complaining. I became a faeling for the RP and now I can emote really really fast!
WOOT!
WOOT!

Hartstone teacher is faeling, druids learned their skills from fae, nearly all hartstone are faeling, I'd say faeling are meant to be hartstone at least as much, if not more, than they're meant to be moondancer.
In fact, this change shows exactly how faeling are born to be hartstone most of all. The prime class for faeling is now hartstone. It's of course your own fault if you pick dreamweaving instead of runes.

Wiccans learnt their skills from the Fae too, Wiccans kinda have the whole Fae skillset, nearly all Hartstone are NOT Faeling, they're Elfen, most Faelings are Moondancer.
Thorgal2005-04-11 10:52:55
Well, I don't count inactive or nearly non-existant hartstoners, the two main druids, laysus and Elryn, are faeling. Plus this change really shows how much the divine meant faeling to be hartstone, otherwise they wouldn't have made it.

Well, that's funny, because the Moondancer GM AND Moondancer Administrator, and a Moondancer secretary (dude, Laysus is on the scroll, you have no excuse) are Faelings.
As is Lyth, a former sec who's now left for Glomdoring.
Thorgal2005-04-11 10:57:46
Feh, okay then, moondancers outrank hartstone in having the most faelings, still doesn't change anything to the fact faeling are meant to be hartstone more than moondancer, else they would have given faeling faster equilibrium instead of balance.
Shiri2005-04-11 10:58:50
That's a circular argument if I ever heard one. Pick a side, come on.
Thorgal2005-04-11 11:01:29
Why? Are you doubting the divine, heretic? Do you think they've made a wrong and anti-RP decision in not giving them faster equilibrium instead? BURN YOU INFIDEL! Do not doubt the divine!
I think they shouldn't have changed faeling at all, but they did anyway, and you ungrateful treehuggers still think it's not enough!

Shiri2005-04-11 11:04:29
It's not "us ungrateful treehuggers", it's from an objective perspective. I don't really mind about Faelings, since I'm not one, yo.
Thorgal2005-04-11 11:26:41
The change makes perfect sense objectively, subjectively, ooc or ic. Though not changing them at all, would have made the same amount of sense.
Shiri2005-04-11 11:27:31
Not from a balance perspective. As in, making them viable in combat.
Thorgal2005-04-11 11:28:15
They are now much more viable for combat, since they can sling runes so fast they'll be able to indefinately hinder any opponent.
Murphy2005-04-11 11:54:50
yep, supersling will only be just faster than laoding 2 seperate slings up
