Comments? Opinions? I haven't been a Dwarf, but they seem to be very tanky, like Cabalist (Aetolia) tankish.

Dwarves are the bane of any classes that uses damage as their method of killing. Elemental, magical, poison, physical resistances all rolled into one race on top of no sipping penalty and 15 constitution and average intelligence and strength. It's just plain wrong that any race can have such nice stats and bonuses.
Silvanus2005-04-11 22:00:28
In other words, they are the best bashers, and cank tank 5/9 archetypes.

Well, since Guardians rely on magical damage (some of them), Mages rely on elemental/poison, and warriors on physical, they can tank all of the archetypes when it comes to damage. Just instant kills own every class and every race (except Furrikin, damn Furrikins!).

I wasn't counting the archetypes with instantskills that are frequent (archetypes that were one of the 5 are: Warrior, Druid, Aqua).

Personally I think dwarves are pretty damn tanky, especially with the additions of such skills as Stagform, Drawdown, Numen, Resilience/Magic, and so on.

Seems too tanky. ninja.gif

Actually, Silvanus, I was a dwarven Cabalist.

Double Roxxor.

I loved it. Don't think Aetolian dwarves are much different, right? I actually had someone drop 23 holocaust bombs on me, one after another, and I didn't die.

I'm tempted to buy a cameo to do that here. happy.gif

They are different. Less con, no physical/blunt resistance, one of the few things Varian saw early on and changed it, but no more Aetolia.

I bring this up because of people like Tuek, Narsrim, Tharruk, would just beat on them for hours and they can sip health and be fine.

Sacrifice is an instant kill, regardless of whether it is impossible to pull off or not, Toadcurse isn't an instant kill since you can run. So Ur'guard have an instant kill, whereas Moondancers do not. But yeah, 5/9 classes are screwed against a deffed up dwarf. sad.gif
Sylphas2005-04-11 22:15:35
And don't forget that dwarf toads retain their physical resistances, so they take more stomps to kill, if you do manage to catch them.
Shiri2005-04-11 22:16:26
I think that was fixed.

Behead is an instantkill, so Paladins and Serenguard have it also.

Now you see why I did not include sacrifice, behead, or something similar to that.
Shamarah2005-04-11 22:16:48
When you come down to it, all classes have instakills except Aquas, Moondancers (although Toadcurse can kinda be an instakill) and Hartstone (Warriors get Behead/Brainbash). That's not to say, however, that those are very good.
Unknown2005-04-11 22:18:11
Bleh. You guys are losing focus on the actual topic.
Shamarah2005-04-11 22:19:34
Dwarves are overpowered!

Thaddeus tanks my staffcast over and over and over even when he was hardly healing at the end of our fight. It took like 15 staffcasts to kill him.

I consider instant kills are abilities that you can either do it in a small amount of time with the required prerequisites, or you can't. Absolve needs 50% mana, Soulless needs 7 rubs and 8 seconds to finish, Chasm needs to be in demesne (I think) and 7 seconds or so, Sacrifice needs impaled on cross + 4 broken limbs.

Behead and Bashbrain is not anywhere near as controllable. You can be lucky and get behead in 4 hits after getting critical, or you can be unlucky and not get behead in after 20 swings after critical. You cannot compare the two.
Silvanus2005-04-11 22:26:51
Ahem, I hijacked my own topic...

Opinions people, opinions!
Terenas2005-04-11 22:28:41
I suggest dwarves should not be able to target anyone above the gut as a knight, for obvious reasons.

Then can a Viscanti hit an Igasho in the head, or could a Furrikin hit an Igasho in the head, hell, could a furrikin hit an Igasho in the stomach?

Hope you weren't serious.

Dwarf.

Chasm.

Repeat.
