Artifact eye, key, monolith sigils, 10-20cr each, that only the owner can pick up. And can only be dropped on aether terrain.

Hmm, hmm?

P.S. Runes for statues would be wonderful

They made it so statues couldn't be enchantable on purpouse. ohmy.gif
Richter2005-04-12 20:56:37
And I made a manse so I could have a private retreat!

I can't defend my own place, and it's irritating. I must have missed the reason They provided.
Gwylifar2005-04-12 21:29:19
I just want sigils in manses to be invisible. Is that so hard?
Revan2005-04-12 21:38:26
If you can't defend your own manse, learn to fight better tongue.gif
Richter2005-04-12 21:46:07
Nah, I like that idea too.

See, here's the thing, my opinion, take it or leave it.

These things are freakin expensive. We buy 'em because we want our own place, or for RP, or whatever. It certainly doesn't help in combat, etc, though it does provide easy warping around the world for people.

But.

Manses are not a part of the normal world, they do not ever -have- to be traversed.

If I want some crazy impregnable fortress, why can't we have one? Instead, I have enemies running through it mocking me, and Narsrim killing me, etc.

I want -every- room runed. What's the purpose of offering housing without security?

That doesn't deserve the reply I'm giving it.

I agree with Richter's assessment.

And as for runing up statues, I don't see why it wouldn't be allowed (I'm sure there's some cunningly obvious reason that escapes me, however). Especially since you can spend 1k credits on buying a store, which tends to suggest a person wants their Manse open to the public. And at the same time, if you do have your manse open to the public, you get (donkey)holes who have nothing better to do than kill you (Not that some people don't have it coming, but folks do take it to the extreme a lot of times).

There needs to be -some- sort of establishable defense for a Manse. Maybe regular statues can't be enchanted, but there's a manse artifact you can get which turns into a statue of the person who drops it, and -that- can be enchanted.

Or maybe even artifact guards, which aren't all that powerful individually, but they all assist each other, and come to the defense of anyone attacked in the manse. The guards -can- be killed, but they reset after X period of time - and to keep them from just being farmed for experience, make them worthless for experience, cash, and the corpse can't be picked up. Nyah!

Or maybe I was just smoking the good stuff with those suggestions. I dunno.
Richter2005-04-13 00:23:24
I like 'em.
Daganev2005-04-13 00:26:16
The idea was to allow people to have decorations in thier house, but those decorations can't double as defences.
Sylphas2005-04-13 01:04:45
Why not?
Lyren2005-04-13 09:37:21
Aww, just think.. a little miniature of a toy soldier that turns into a manse-guard.
Unknown2005-04-13 16:05:49
If that were to happen, I think it would be one of those artifacts you end up having to email Estarra about, and would cost a ridiculous amount of money. I see that the guards would be like the low-level city guards, except you would be able to customize what they look like, what their attack message(s) would be, etc., so the person who built a forest could have wolves that bite, the person who built the city can have soldiers, and the person who built the big floating bubble of air can have birds.

The artifact would be a one-time use thing, and you'd activate it at your fulcrux. Once activated, you can MANSE SUMMON GUARD for 10,000 gold and 10% of your reserves.
Richter2005-04-13 17:15:43
That's crap. Someone would just smash all of them, costing me HUGE amounts of gold and power, neither of which I have much of right now.

Let us put stuff in the damned manses. I don't want idiots having free reign of the place. sad.gif It makes me sad.
Unknown2005-04-14 07:28:01
Then maybe just buy the original artifact, then buy smaller artifacts, like the toy-soldier miniatures, that would create repopping guards, which give no experience, no gold, and no essence to a god.

And statues should be enchantable. Like totally.
Richter2005-04-14 19:38:05
Yes to statues, and yes to -real- guards. Toy soldiers? Dubya tee eff?

I mean, it's my private place, we're talking giant guards, walls of spears, traps, flamethrowers, etc.

Or... we could just have statues enchantable, privs fixed, and some kind of guards.

*puppy dog eyes*
Unknown2005-04-14 20:36:41
No, the toy soldiers or whatever would be miniatures, you'd activate 'em and they'd turn into the full size guards that you described when you bought the big guard artifact thing, the one that lets you buy the guards in the first place.
Richter2005-04-14 20:59:18
Oh.

Okay then.

But let's enchant statues too!
Unknown2005-04-14 22:05:08
Yes! Please! Enchantable defensive statues would be good. Perhaps if there is a fear that they'd be abused as an attack (seriously, how does that work?), maybe just not allow enchanting in the fulcrux room.

And MANSE EJECT (annoying jackass) would be good too. They'd have to be in the same room, though...
You point at Randomn00b and concentrate for a moment, and a hole opens in the aether, sucking him out of your manse. The hole squelches shut a moment later, cutting off his cry of surprise.

Blastron points imperiously at you, and you let out a cry of surprise as the aether fabric around you opens up and sucks you in. After tumbling through the grey nothingness for a moment, you suddenly find yourself plummeting toward the floor of the Aetherplex chamber.

Randomn00b suddenly drops in from above, trailing aetherial nothingness.
Richter2005-04-14 23:12:46
Yes!

And be able to give manse eject privs to friends!

Manse ejection privs add Selthar

Selthar is now able to eject idiots from your manse!

This wouldn't work on me, of course.

Manse list ejection privs
The following people can eject others from your manse:
Murphy
Aris
Yuniko
Sierus

You say, "Sweet!"
