Once again, anything that has become official law has been approved by the Commune, and to make my point clear. Not everything is open to debate by the Commune. It makes leadership nothing but a rubber stamp and ineffectual. Leaders are elected to -lead-. So go back to my old post, and select one of the three choices I gave you.

Just because you are a leader does not mean you are not subject to the same rules as the rest of the commune which is what the whole argument over the cit aetherwaves was about.

What laws have I broken? IN fact I applauded Gwylifar for upholding the Power policy and powerbanning me when I overdrew and didn't realise it.

QUOTE(Gwylifar @ Apr 13 2005, 12:27 PM)
I would like to see Serenwilde think more about nature. Most of the time we define ourselves by what we oppose: taint, cities, tainted cities. And then we fall short of even managing to do that some of the time (not nearly as much as the cityfolk think, but yes, we do sometimes). But very little do we actually talk about, or really remember, that we're there to preserve nature from those things. We're an ark. Once we remember that, we can figure out, are we an ark on the flood waiting it out, or an ark that landed after the flood, getting ready to go out and reconquer the lands? But right now we don't even really remember that. We don't think about ecology, we don't think about the rhythm of life and death, we don't think about predation, we don't think about diversity. The closest we do is snuggle the happy pretty flowers and squirrels, and then chant about the Great Spirits, without connecting them back to anything alive around us.

I somewhat agree.
Yes, we need to think of ourselves less as a political entity and more of a nature worshipping society who is bent on preserving the natural world. I get frustrated when some of us seem eager to sacrifice that vision for diplomatic convenience, but I do think most of the leadership at least has a good idea of what we are supposed to be.
I don't think Serenwilde ignores this side of things quite as much as you imply, however.

Nyla that was me that you claim broke a law.

Sorry I cant keep track of the facists
Gregori2005-04-13 03:14:49
Well that was quite the rebuttal. Sort of along the lines of "Oh well if I can't beat them I might as well insult them."
Nyla2005-04-13 03:16:13
My wisdom teeth are coming in cut me some slack. You stood up for Alyssandra when she broke the law Gregori.
Daganev2005-04-13 03:41:33
so yeah... Celest needs more water apperciation days...
Unknown2005-04-13 03:44:01
Technically it was Ialie who broke the law, I just gave her permission to do so.
Daganev2005-04-13 03:45:23
And more rhetoric about the water being pure and light refracting, and how the taint blocks the light, and nature needs light to survive, and light makes water shiny and pretty... and ... SHUSH SERENS!
Unknown2005-04-13 04:01:22
You love our arguments really Dag.
Daganev2005-04-13 04:03:55
but richter won't

I would like to see....
Glomdoring be very anti-city and very much against Magnagora in particular due to their constant meddling (even though Magnagora thinks it's help).
Then once Glomdoring and Magnagora are fighting...
Serenwilde and Celest can open hostilities
Both Communes keep one eye open for each other while they battle the nasty cities.
Then ... Forest rules the Basin!
Yes!
This would destroy the entire Magnagora/Glomdoring vs Celest/Serenwilde approach and it would be interesting and COOL!

Three comments.
Nyla, the Night Coven always needs someone who is willing to stand up and do something. Come my padawan learner, embrace the dark side! Bwahahaha! (hehe I love my Palpatine)
Second, ultimately I would like to see an uneasy alliance between the forestal communities in a driven and focused attempt to eradicate civilization from the basin.
About Gregori's prior comment about consequences. People dont play games for consequences. If they want consequences, they go out and live real life. Yes there need to be some consequences for gameplay purposes, but taking it too far only harms the game by driving away players.

Meh, Serenwilde and Glomdoring will always be enemies. Thats the way it should be.
Erion2005-04-13 14:20:59
Eh. The Night Coven and the Summer Court seem to be viewing each other warily - Hell, Erion wants to work together, but is deathly afraid for Rowena's life. He hates the Seren, but would swallow it if it meant not being at one another's throats right off the back. As to Magnagora, Erion probably isn't Viravain's best friend right now - she hates them, but Erion's been using them.
As to Mag/Glom fighting, I can see it. As I said, Erion fears for Rowena, which means he needs to suck up to Viravain. If Viravain said Mag was evil and needs to be destroyed, Erion would never stop hounding people to attack Mag, if he thought it would curry Rowena favour. They're just egotistical city-dwellers that can't seem to take their nose out of other people's business, anyway. =\\
Anyway. The Glom/Mag thing is deffinately there, while there's little reason for a Celest/Glom fight - Viravain doesn't really care about Celest.
It's sad the Seren'll never be like "zomg letz teamz teh citiez yo!"

So you want people to be able to raid Celest one day, then skip through the city hugging random Celestians the next? You don't play normal games for consequences, but Muds are constantly evolving worlds, you -cannot- expect your past actions to not have any bearings on future consequences, especially when there continues to be interactions between other players. Lusternia is populated by different groups of people, you just can't expect to piss them all off and don't have to worry about any ingame retaliations.

That's what I've been saying!
I've always been telling the Serenwilde leadership not to alienate the Summer Court or Viravain, and to help her where they can, and where it doesn't involve harming them, their spirits, or the Fae. I mean, at times, it seems like there is no reason to behave the way they do, other then the preconceived OOC notion that has been repeatedly drilled into everyone's heads that "Glomdoring and Serenwilde must fight at all times! Rowr!"

QUOTE(Gwylifar @ Apr 13 2005, 04:27 AM)
I've already said elsewhere that I want Magnagora to go back from bloodthirsty towards evil again. Scheming, influencing, plotting. Not always against everyone and everything. Not always looking for a fight. Keeping its fighters working for the city's goals, rather than having the city's goals aligned towards giving the fighters someone to fight.
96175
You've got that idéfix for a while now, and I don't understand it where on earth you got it from, Magnagora has been making economic and political deals, ceasefires, alliances and plots below the surface from day one, and is still doing it, we even created a temporary ceasefire with our archenemy, we've been trying to break up alliances and friendships, we did everything exactly as you described how we should act...so the above quote is kinda baseless.
