Well, I don't have sweetfount but assuming it runs on at least regular demesne timers using it would require 10 seconds or more to cure one affliction and possbly a lot longer if I have other afflictions, plus it'd require for me to be in my demesne.

I also don't have the skill in HighMagic, even with that though I still think it's wrong to need a skill to avoid a 2 part lock. dunno.gif

A two part lock here, is about the equivalent of a three part lock in the other realms. Why you ask? Because the only class that can give anorexia/asthma only can deliver one affliction at a time using hexes. By comparison, Saboteurs in Imperian can Dstab for 2 afflictions, have a pet cobra giving formaldehyde (loki) afflictions, have access to the darts trap (one dart with whatever toxin they choose every 2 seconds), 3 line (not two lines like other realms) illusions, or they can suggest hypnosis afflictions at the same time they dstab.

I was wondering if that's why the two part lock irks me, because I remember the serpents from Aetolia, heck the Paladins from Aetolia, so maybe there's a disconnect, and hexers can give these two in one go with the 10p Allhex, right? If not then scrap this thread. Cause I have no problem with a two part lock if you have to be given both seperately.

They can. But if someone can kill you with an allhex, most likely they could without, and therefore wouldn't bother wasting 10p.
Binjo2005-04-15 01:57:10
Well, I'm not trying to say "Grr! No hexers can't kill!" It's not about the killing to me, I just want to die from a volume afflictions (after putting my self off of two balances as in my suggestion *ahem*) than by a two part lock that stops most of my health and affliction healing.

Isn't there a slickness hex as well? Making the whole debate rather academic? :/
Sylphas2005-04-15 02:49:13
No, but crone can give it sometimes. If you really want to lock someone, you can allhex anorexia, asthma, paralysis, impatience, stupidity, (hex of your choice here, usually vapors/epilepsy, though I prefered masochism).

The only good thing about hexes, is that it can lock someone without focus mind, and you want to remove that?
Drago2005-04-15 10:29:33
Of course, everyone likes nerfing a skill that, compared to the other choices you get, sucks.

Here here. Just pray what I want for the envoy report goes through. Then hexes will be fun! And actually make people think twice about whether they want Tarot (or Healing) or Hexes.
Shiri2005-04-15 17:26:14
I don't think an "advantage" of a skillset should be "kicking everyone who doesn't have focus mind's arse." There should be others than that. Technically combat's supposed to be balanced at the tri-trans level, and everything else after that is extras. (or so people insist on telling me.)

As Narsrim pointed out every class has _some_ method to get out of it, yes mine is adding another, but it basically punishes the user for the ability, it's certainly worse than 250 mana and a two second (or whatever it is) balance. I just think as a matter of principle that you shouldn't need a skill to get out of a two part lock, cause I'm irrational.
