QUOTE(Asmoth @ Apr 14 2005, 02:31 AM)
I have a simple question.

Do you yourself use this ability?

Because it seems people always complain and whine about abilities they don't use, and never the ones they do...

Am wondering, ever heard of this quote?

In Germany, the Nazis first came for the communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, but I didn't speak up because I was a protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left to speak for me.

Are you bringing that quote to support him? because normally that means stick up for other people, not just yourself, yet he's saying people are only complaining against skills used against them, or skills they don't use very well...

doh.gif I'm a dummy. But yeah sure, since we feel the same way, why not?

Edit: Actually, I remembered why I dumped that quote there now. Is because I took his meaning to be "don't whine unless you use that skill."

I thought Nazi mention meant a thread was dead, and it should be closed instantly? Mods! I demand you do your work! biggrin.gif

I think Godwin's Law only applies to Usenet. ermm.gif

Besides, that's like the most specious argument ever. Of course you complain about skills that you don't use. You don't use them because they suck. You want us to complain about the ones that don't suck and not complain about the ones that do? I suppose you're always surprised that your car keys are in the last place you look. Or maybe after you find them, you keep on looking so it's not the last place you look after all.

Just a random idea, about the whole precluding people who have low mana, why not make it 250 mana or 9.5% of total mana per power which ever is lower? That way someone under 2250 or whatever would use 76% of their mana, but still be able to do it.
Sylphas2005-04-16 16:08:33
Why not just scrap the skill and put something different and neat in the trans slot?
Jack2005-04-16 16:11:59
Sylphas, I like the way you think.
Binjo2005-04-16 16:13:27
Heh, I don't care, not like I'm going to get trans Discipline anytime soon.
Jack2005-04-16 16:15:34
I'm investing around 200 credits in it pretty soon - primarily for the willpower + power recovery rate - and I'd like to make sure I'm getting my money's worth. tongue.gif
Binjo2005-04-16 16:23:00
Psh, people like you need to invest in -me- instead of silly things like skills and artifacts. tongue.gif
Sylphas2005-04-16 16:23:09
How much difference is there in power recovery between Inept and Trans?
Shiri2005-04-16 16:38:31
It's 8 seconds at trans, use a skill and work it out from that by spamming QL until it goes up again. (Thorgal's done a timestamp script on mechanic's corner if you want to use that.)
Sylphas2005-04-16 16:40:10
Ok, but what is it at inept?
Shiri2005-04-16 16:43:09
Iunno, I don't think anyone has power by the time you're still on inept discipline. tongue.gif
Sylphas2005-04-16 16:44:10
I should have tested right after I got rid of discipline to learn Dreamweaving. Now I'm back to Capable. sad.gif
Soll2005-04-16 16:47:36
It's 12 seconds at Inept.
