I really honestly never expected a post of this size on the forums here about it really, seems kinda strange to kick up the fuss. Elaria's easily led and people she trusted told her things she believed, so she tried to do something about it. I knew ooc it would get her into trouble. She's not trying to make a push for power or get in the limelight or anything. She's just doing what she thinks is right. She normally deals with people pretty good, but she's dense. That's how it seems to me anyway. It sounds like one or two opinions here got a shade too personal. I don't expect anything to change ic as a result of the post, hell, I thought most of it was bullcrap too. Roleplaying a character's demise isn't easy.

Well in your case Visaeris I think I'll make an exception! Heh...
Erion2005-04-14 22:49:23
Yea. o.o We weren't at the Ravenwood. Where'd THAT come from?
Amaru2005-04-14 22:50:42
Sure Angel, sure.
Unknown2005-04-14 22:53:51
I don't know, it's hard to remember precisely who which part of the story comes from where now! All I did was to make it sound entertaining.
Don't get so bothered Amaru, Elaria might hate you ic, but I don't ooc. It's not like that post was actually gonna do anything afterall. Chill a little!

So if say, a member of Lacostian's order is sitting there getting spied on he shouldn't tell them?

Why would a member of Lacostian's Order be supporting Viravain?
Thorgal2005-04-14 22:55:44
Heh, your character constantly contests everyone in charge, from prince to guild champion, and you try telling us she's not pushing for power?
Amaru2005-04-14 23:00:00
Hah, yea. And Elaria about a week ago said to me 'I'm going to cause you some problems soon' and some other little threat I laughed off. I don't think you predicted how badly this scheme would work...
Unknown2005-04-14 23:03:07
There's no power that I want for her or any power she wants for herself. I suppose she just has problems with authority or something. The contestions against Rhysus were in the first two years of the game, I have to add, it's not like those were RECENT.... the first one of those was contesting it when it was vacant too. Overall I'm happier Rhysus got it. Elaria/myself would have trouble handling the every day problems Celest seems to have.
Unknown2005-04-14 23:05:39
Oh actually I did Amaru, I predicted that this scheme would work out very badly indeed. That's kind of the point of it though. Elaria did not know which way it would go and tried anyway. It wasn't even her idea initially, I just decided to use it to develop her character and situation.
Thorgal2005-04-14 23:06:02
What about contesting for guild champion then?
Unknown2005-04-14 23:21:14
That position's gone up for grabs more times than any other in the realms I think... every time I contested it, it was either empty or the person was resigning. Amaru and I have probably contested it about 5 times each or maybe more. (One which came out in a three-way tie between us and Galvadore, which was amusing I must say.)
Ohh... and as for Erion not reporting her to Celest... I'd have figured you'd done so already

Having only met Elaria ICly like twice, and having read her post on Amaru's site, I'm happy to say that I was right Nyahnyah!
Unknown2005-04-14 23:40:42
Right about what Daganev? You mean the character suicide thing? I figured it'd be more obvious to you, you've seen her a bit recently ic.

QUOTE(Rhysus @ Apr 14 2005, 04:44 PM)
Actually, I think that was a misunderstanding propagated by either Llexyn or Kaervas. We agreed to a cease fire in Nil and Celestia, but beyond that there was pretty much nothing, particularly as concerned the villages. Yet I started getting these reports about Magnagorans being told not to attack our villages or something. Didn't much bother me, since hey, whatever, they don't want to attack Southgard, fine by me. But then they started asking why Ceres was raiding Dairuchi or whatever, and were shocked to discover I had no idea what this peace treaty or whatever everyone thought existed was.
97843
No misunderstanding on my part and I'm sure it wasn't on Kaervas, since he didn't make the post announcement. My post said something along the lines of no attacks on Nil or Celestia and that we were working on an agreement to tithe commodities depending on which city had more miners in the two mining villages and that raids on either village would make no difference as the tithing would just reflect that. I mean, I did encourage they not raid Celest's villages but that it wasn't banned from happening. So they were and still are free to raid as much as they want on any village.
I just love how things get twisted to suit the person's thoughts at any given time.
Vesar2005-04-15 00:08:29
Well, I might as well add my perspective to it, since Vesar is a member of the ruling council, too, even if people don't realize it.
It seems to me that Elaria, who used to be a bit more stable, has really jumped off the deep end. With threats and accusations that the Council is conspiring against the city and that this peace isn't meant to be, who wouldn't think her insane?
Heretical Inquisitioner. I don't know if she took that title before or after this happened, but it surely fits. New Celest may be the city of Light, but zealous fanatics have no place there. We don't need the type of people that would jump off a cliff in the "name of everything good" for no good reason.
The best way to accomplish, well... -anything-, is to step back from the situation, look at things objectively, weighing all factors, and making a rash and clear decision for the good of your organization.
Unfortunately, most people in the city don't see this, and view the Council's uneasy peace with hatred, as they think we are just bowing to a stronger force. Wrong. We're rebuilding. We're growing. We're training.
And Llexyn, you're "misunderstanding" apparently went all the way to the top in Magnagora. Yesterday I had Shamarah meld a demesne through Delport (much like when Silvanus melded it right before it revolted on us) and you guys went nuts. Stangmar keep asking "but.. but.. what about the treaty? Remove it or break the treaty!" To which I responded "What treaty?" Even when I was logging off (about 1 sec before I quit) Daevos started sending me tells of the same nature. You're right. It -is- funny how things get twisted. Reminds me of the telephone game we used to play as kids. ;-)

Daganev2005-04-15 00:42:30
Since when was Stangmar anywhere near the top of magnagora?
Shiri2005-04-15 00:45:47
That's not who he was referring to by "the top."
That was Daevos.
