I think Krokani, Orclach, and Taurians need them the most, followed closely by Furrikin, Faeling, and Tae'dae.
Unknown2005-04-15 02:24:17
Tae'dae doesn't need upgrades.
Shiri2005-04-15 02:29:16
Krokani I'll take, but I don't think the Orclach race is anywhere near in as dire a state as Faeling and Furrikin.
Thorgal2005-04-15 02:35:06
Tae'dae drop dead rediculously fast to cosmicfire and moonburst, despite sipping bonus. Dwarves are tankier than tae'dae .

The numbers show though shiri. Faeling and Furrikin are good enough that people would play them. Yet, I've Never once seen another Orclach on at the same time as me, no matter when I've been on.
Asarnil2005-04-15 11:21:42
Thats cos Graal only really comes on when one of his friends pester him to do some forging. Lunchbox doesn't really IRE anymore to any great effect.
Sylphas2005-04-15 16:26:56
Faeling people make due with because it's an awesome race, not because of the stats.
Shiri2005-04-15 17:12:39
Yeah, Sylphas is right, Dyr. People don't play Faelings and Furrikin 'cause they're good at combat.
They play 'cause they're cool. I certainly am not playing a Furrikin to be a good fighter, I'm playing it 'cause I always wanted a kitsune character.
(As a side note, there aren't exactly a lot of us as players either.)

balance penalties are as much a defensive penalty as it is an offensive penalty.
Also as a note on the population of race. I dont exactly think these numbers are accurate as a representation of how such sucks. Like dwarves for example they're not exactly a weak race but there are so few of them because a lot of people prefer not to play a short stout bearded fellow. As a matter of fact the 3 dwarves i know are pretty much dwarves for the stats and not really the RP. Stats are a minimal deciding factor on race, and using it as a supportive argument for my race is not up to par is just weak.

Shiri, my point is the stats aren't bad enough to discourage people from playing those races.
Or else everyone thinks orcs suck. I dont blame them. *shrug*

Shiri2005-04-16 16:26:38
See, that's the point, stats AREN'T bad enough to discourage people from playing the races. If I had like 6 CON I'd still be a Furrikin.
Unknown2005-04-16 17:06:37
No, Shiri, thats my point. Stats can be bad, but they shouldn't be enough to discourage people from playing the races. They are for Orclach.
Shiri2005-04-16 17:08:56
Orclach stats aren't as bad as Furrikin stats.
So that's not the reason. It's just that no one wants to play orcs, and they're not GOOD enough to ENcourage it.

You'd probably still be Furrikin if it were 1 con
Shiri2005-04-16 17:15:16
Probably. Although I'd have to give up fighting.
Sylphas2005-04-16 17:22:05
Probably? 1 con doesn't hit 1000 health until level 100.
Nyla2005-04-16 17:26:52
The only thing that is wrong with faelings is the exp disadvantage. They are fine.
Orclach really need some kinda upgrade. I played one once upon a blue moon yeah. It wasnt kosher

Shiri2005-04-16 17:28:16
Faelings aren't fine.
Sylphas2005-04-16 17:35:32
They fineish. I'd love to see an int boost on them, but they're good apart from the low con. And you can't really fix that and still make sense (and not overpower them).
Shiri2005-04-16 17:38:39
Making DEX and CHA work will be fine. That's all I'm saying. (For Furrikin, you could EITHER have DEX and CHA work, or have a level 1 eq bonus. Or even both, but that's wishful.)
