There are some immature people on these forums, Visaeris, are you jealous they have had more time to whine like a child than you have?
I love how you just gloss over the posts/parts of posts that you can't think of a reply to at the moment. Your standard ' off ' would do as a place holder, I guess.
There has been a lot of build up but the story is just not at a point where Glomdoring could be made a reality.

Which makes it all the more amusing that nothing is being changed in terms of the pacing of the event.
Elryn2005-04-16 02:31:14
Not really. I imagine the admin are trying to satisfy many different demands, the burning desires of some of the players being just one of them.
I'm sure they'll finish things when they are able to.

Um... the adders that Gwylifar was talking about in his public post, where people keep overhunting them and he has to keep hatching eggs and raising new ones?

Takes about 4-5 hours to get one hatched and grown up. Takes at least two people, preferably more, to do it. Even costs a tiny bit of money. Can be undone in about two minutes. No way even to be notified that someone is undoing it. Can't even tell that someone has undone it save by patrolling the valley 3-4 passes with lots of squabbling with rocs. Wonder who's going to take care of them when I'm gone. Probably no one.

And I was supposed to help... with their protection. Sorry, Gwylifar!

It's funny, 'cause Visaeris leaves the realms because he's screwed himself over along with the glomdoring folks, then things pick up and someone else takes over, and it becomes clear that things are going to start coming together, so Visaeris comes back having skipped much of the hard work that the other people had to deal with, and then is pissed off that things aren't moving fast enough. You know what? Cry me a river.
On an unrelated note, yes, nymph needs a serious downgrade. Moondancers' other skills need an upgrade.

This is really a no-win scenario for the administration. If we try to plan out and design everything before an event takes place, this means that you would be waiting several weeks (or months) before we would even start an event (in which case you would be bitching about how "nothing is happening"). If we try to ride the wave of actual player RP and design and plan as we go along, there is no avoiding that there will be gaps of time between the "action". Even something that may seem to you to be an easy jump to the next stage may in actually take hours and hours of work behind the scenes. There is absolutely no way to avoid this. Other things to consider is that we do like to span events through different time zones. We don't like events to cater just to one individual or small group of individuals. We do prefer to have as many people as possible to have a chance to get involved. It is simply unavoidable that the pacing will ebb and flow. If we did happen to stack an event so that there was non-stop action, I assure you that the majority would not enjoy it (been there, done that). Anyway, IC try to enjoy the lulls to catch your breath and OOC try to understand that the admin actually doesn't have magical powers where we can snap our fingers and have coding and scripts magically appear. If only that were true!
Erion2005-04-16 03:48:54
Actually, from what I've heard, you spent a lot of time constantly behind the scenes, and over the past few weeks, Est, my respect for you and the rest of the admins multiplied exponentially. I'm quite glad for the lulls - to my overwhelming surprise, the Court and Coven have actually started working together, and we've started to come up with a series of liturgies to Night, etc.
Some people just want this to, understandably, be over with. A lot of us hoped for more than just a nexus when we summoned the three Avatars. To have them soloed by Tuek (well, Soloed in the sense that it was him and I think 6 nymphs, all of which were actively stopping the Avatar they were working on) has just brought a lot of (reasonable) stress. When it's all done and over with, things will seem better on every side.
But, just. Thank you. I know you're putting a lot of effort into this. A ton. And, as much as you hate them, leaks have shown me only a miniscule amount. When I was told (On no less than six occasions in about a three day period) "Est's been AFK for over an hour and a half, coding." It just made me realize how much effort you seriously put into this. Shrug.
Anyway. to the staff. I'm sure you're tired of our whining and flaming, but here's to ungratefulness. It's just the way things flow.

It was 4, Erion. (I think you can have a squad of 4. Right? :/)
Erion2005-04-16 04:02:12
No! A squad can only be 3 people! no more, no less!

To add on to my previous post, we also end up getting sidetracked a LOT on unrelated coding priorities that crop up... like having to drop everything to brainstorm, design and code a way to prevent one person the capability to solo a night avatar (with or without a squad).
Shiri2005-04-16 04:08:54
You just have to stop nymphs working there. That should do it, really.

just copy and paste this:
