It's not THAT insane. (Actually, come to think of it, maiden could use a downgrade too. Although some consistency would be nice. STOP GIVING ME ENDURANCE BLESSINGS. )

Waxing is not a bonus to healing because you can only use one of the two at once.
Thorgal2005-04-16 17:45:02
She meant a general bonus to the healing you have, i.e. waxing adds to sip, sparkleberry, regeneration, mother, sprite, etc.
If the Nightdancers are gonna be anywhere remotely resembling Moondancers, you're gonna be seeing the forums spammed with complaints from Tuek and Narsrim, I'll take any bet on that.

Heh. Y'know, I thought the same thing would happen if they got lich and it was the Magnagorans that had to fight the infinitely recursive army for a change.
Thorgal2005-04-16 18:04:43
Pfff, I fought lichs for years and never once complained about it.
Shiri2005-04-16 18:17:59
Psh, sure. Let's see the rest of the city then. If they can complain about vitae-spores (pre-downgrade), they'll definately complain about lich.
Ceres2005-04-16 18:18:49
With Inquisition, liches don't bother me all that much.
Shiri2005-04-16 18:19:24
Magnagorans don't have inquisition.
Ceres2005-04-16 18:20:03
Magnagorans won't be fighting Glomdoritos.
Shiri2005-04-16 18:20:46
Oh yeah.
...damnit.
...damnit.

Shadowdancers will be much worse. They won't have a bad specialization skill (Moon), they'll have Night which I'm sure will be leagues better and not have all the useless abilities. They'll have an equivalent to Dark Moon which actually does something, and they will lose the Maiden, Mother, and Crone, but get three Fae that actually do something, three offensive Fae, I would drop the Mother and Maiden so fast for a Redcap and whatever else they are getting. They are most likely going to end up being superior in every part the Moondancers lack.
I won't be complaining though. I don't post topics to complain about classes. I however have posted a few topics as a counter point to idiots.

Tehn2005-04-16 23:35:37
Heh, you just complained about a class that will be the equivilant of yours before it's even out. Nice.
Shiri2005-04-16 23:49:39
That's because looking at Moon, four out of the sixteen skills are really a lot of good in combat.
Wicca's better off, but we still have the odd case of uselessness. (Brownie, leprechaun.)
It's not hard to imagine ANYTHING being better. :/

I'm saying, the Night Coven will probably lose something of the defensive things, but gain a good amount of offense. Offense is greater then defense. Why should I tank the hits of my enemy, when instead I can tear them down quickly? It will be fun to fight the Night Coven. Fae on Fae.
I was in no way complaining.
Narsrim2005-04-17 00:03:30
I'd just like to take a moment and share some suggestions.
Being tanky truly is not necessary to kill a Demon Lord or Night Avatar. It certainly does help but being mediocre can get the job done just as easily. The true important factor is strategy. It just so happens Tuek and I are superior in this field. We sit and and brain storm for hours at a time bashing... and it pays off in the end.
With regards to Estarra's post about one person not being able to solo a Night Avatar, I think you need to look beyond making a creature give more afflictions or deal more damage. For example, I soloed a Night Avatar just by walking in the room, attacking, walking out, healing up, and doing the same thing over and over again for 20 minutes. I think the single most powerful thing that could be done to beef them up would be to make them track -but- if they reach a room that they cannot cross (ie. Glomdoring -> Faethorn), they teleport back to their nest in Glomdoring (this would prevent someone from dragging them to the border and doing the same thing).
With that said, all of the tankier mobs should be able to knock someone out of the air. Kaervas could solo a Night Avatar easy with hit/fly. This is a similar spin off to the above tactic although far more useable by classes who can get high con and fly without mounts (since being knocked prone knocks you off a mount).
-----------
With these two changes, I would certainly enjoy a far more difficult battle against the Night Avatars. Currently, they disappoint me.
-----------
On a side note to all you angry Night Coven supporters, Glumki has an attack that took me from 4,800 health to 300. That's a damn near instant kill in one attack that also aeons... ouch.

Ethelon2005-04-17 00:08:39
Even better would be to have the Avatar drag you back in the room if you tried to run, like it would lash you or trap you somehow and pull you back in to finish you off.
Sylphas2005-04-17 00:10:49
Wouldn't be much of a stretch. All sentient mobs know highmagic, just let them use hexagram.
Silvanus2005-04-17 00:11:02
Yeah, make the Supernals/Demon Lords/Avatar gravedigger pit similar things like that.
Unknown2005-04-17 00:17:31
Why not make them hit hard, very fast, with an occasional instakill (but not a room attack), give them regeneration (which with immunity for criticals would make them impossible to kill by anyone alone). You would need quite a big group of highleveled people to kill them then.

A group of nearly 30 Serens died to Gorgulu over-and-over in the past without such things prior to two (and who knows how many more upgrades). They were meant to be killed (and these suggestions would border just making them unkillable). However, it shouldn't be easy.
I honestly think another good thing to do would be to decrease the power drain when they die -and- reduce the essence to resurrect too. That would help tons.
