Could we please make it so that manse permissions will operate using clan names, as well as clan aliases? I have permissions based on the Summer Court in my manse, but because the alias has been changed I can't remove it.

Also, have group permissions been fixed yet? Stangmar was able to maliciously interfere with my manse when he should not have been able to get in.

Have you seen my post about how people are using NOT when they mean EXCEPT? So far in my testing with my manse, they're not broken at all, they're just confusing everyone into using them wrong.

Hmm, no... but I thought except was to exclude people from some group you had already explicitly allowed.

I'll show you my current permissions (and I hope this isn't taken advantage of ingame):

People who meet the following conditions may enter your fulcrux:
is Elryn, Druid of the Avaerin.
is Merloch, Witch of the Serenwilde.
is Witch of the Spirits, Arale Greythane.
is not an enemy of the Collective of Serenwilde.
is not an enemy of the Moondancers Guild.
is not an enemy of the Clan of The Greythane Lineage.
is Lisaera, the Ethereal Maiden.
is not Yrael.
is not enemy of Elryn, Druid of the Avaerin.
is not an enemy of the Hartstone Guild.
is not a member of the Clan of Coven and Brotherhood.
is not Jasper.
is not a member of the Mighty Empire of Magnagora.
is not a member of the Glomdoring Forest.

There are obviously some duplicate ones in there, but because I haven't added any organizations, except won't mean anything, will it?

The point is that each person fits at least one criterion. (Id est, not Jasper, mostly.) Lemme find his old post.

In one of the other threads, Gwylifar (I think?) said that if you don't use the EXCEPT clause, the lines are linked by OR rather than AND. So, anyone would be able to get in, because they wouldn't be YRAEL, and they wouldn't be JASPER (Yrael isn't jasper, and its OR, so it returns true).

Ask Gwylifar about that... I think.

EDIT: Whee, Gwy posted already.

AH! Interesting.

At least you finally admit what you are.
Shiri2005-04-17 02:31:22
Psh. I have for ages.

All I can say is, my interpretation works for me. I don't know if it's what's intended, but it works.

It also makes sense to me, but I've been a programmer for over 20 years now, and sometimes I think in Boolean logic.

Try it, though. You have a lot more in yours than I have in mine. If it works for you, post here and then we'll know for sure I'm right. If it doesn't, I'll eat my hat and we'll go back to "fix the bug!" Just replace all your "is not" with "except" clauses.
