ghost sounds legit, but I dont see why you can't chant while prone, doesnt really make sense.

I'm just bitter that you can't eat or apply salves or even use Waxing while proned, entangled, crucified while Rituals users can. tongue.gif
Thorgal2005-04-18 16:59:47
Well ya see, for combat puella is the only useful skill in rituals. Totems is far superior, if you want to nerf puella, at least add some decent abilities.

Uh, so what about Carcer and Puer, people use that all the time, you can't tell me those abilities suck.
Thorgal2005-04-18 17:03:20
Well, carcer has a 33% success rate of hindering someone, and puer is useless for any race with low mana. I don't think I have to list all the kickass abilities totems offer.

I agree Totems is very good, even though half the skills only work in specific circumstances, night/moon only works at night, river only works in water, rock only works in mountain (I think), sun only works in the morning, tree only works at the Mother, monkey only works in the forest. The other half are just merely replicates of other common skills or those you can get with enchantments, athletics, environment, discernment, or riding.

Anyway, I was merely stating those two downgrades in reponse to the request to nerf Flow, if you want to place sensible limits on abilities, then place them equally on all abilities, not just those you hate.
Thorgal2005-04-18 17:11:04
Well, we can't ghost paralysed, roped, webbed, impaled, transfixed, crucified, pinlegged, sprawled, a broken leg, a broken arm, pierced leg, pierced arm, hemiplegic, severnerved on either side, stunned, off balance, low mana, low power, low willpower...etc

I'd say that's plenty of restrictions don't you think?
Terenas2005-04-18 17:15:25
Tuek posted a list of restrictions for flow too I believe, or maybe it was spores, but there are restrictions as well. But the main one is that it can only be done in a forest and with a target at the other end, and considering that Tuek is a Moondancer, he cannot forest wherever and whenever he likes to flow.

Again, I'm not saying flow doesn't need looking into, but balance all abilities that are giving unfair advantages to all sides then, not just one.
Daganev2005-04-18 18:53:20
don't dis Acquisito!
Xavius2005-04-18 18:53:37
Like I said elsewhere, don't nerf flow, nerf thirdeye's scry-by-who and make the Serens buy wands of scry. That'll be a nice levelling feature. And presto, enchantments are closer to being as important as alchemy!

*stab stab* If I'm putting credits into learning up to thirdeye, I shouldn't have to rely on scry to tell me where people are. tongue.gif

Though scry is still important for people with gems and less spammy.
Sylphas2005-04-18 18:56:39
Yes, nerf thirdeye to be worthless. Then give us an enchanter denizen.
Shiri2005-04-18 19:07:29
Thirdeye does the whole see-thru-invis thing too though. So it's not THAT useless. :/
Sylphas2005-04-18 19:10:48
I can tell you exactly how many times I've used thirdeye to see someone with shroud: 0.
Terenas2005-04-18 19:12:29
Thirdeye allows you to only see when they're in the same room when you do look. You can't even see people enter or leave the room or pick up stuffs. I'm not really sure what invisible does though.

I'm trying to get my wand filled all the time. The enchanters just suck.
Unknown2005-04-19 00:29:59
The reason why being prone doesn't effect Flow is because you turn into a SPIRIT and flow through the foresty crap on the ground. Its why it works in forest and garden, but not in trees (which is what the commune proper is, area-type trees, and you can't flow) essentially, your physical body just dissolves into mulch and reforms somewhere else *shrugs*
Daevos2005-04-19 00:30:53
That argument is faulty since Necromancers can not ghost while prone.
Shiri2005-04-19 00:36:37
Not necessarily. Ghost, as part of Necromancy, is a ritual. That's why they have the chanting. It seems standing up is part of said ritual.

Flowing means you're discorporating into the undergrowth. In fact, I imagine being closer to the ground would make flow FASTER.
Daganev2005-04-19 00:38:38
How can you concentrate on melding into the nature around, and thus move with the breeze when both your feet are not firmly planted on it, and the breeze if flying above you? tongue.gif
