Maybe do lvl 3 regen in tainted forests, and lvl 1 in regular tainted and/or regular forest?
Thorgal2005-04-18 12:10:01
Changed 'em a little.

Drow.

Birthed from Rowena screwing around some fae, they are quite an interesting race.

Strength : 12 Dexterity : 16 Constitution : 11
Intelligence : 16 Size : 11 Charisma : 11

ADVANTAGES:
o Have a racial language, Drow.
o Recover balance faster, level 1.
o Have a level 1 resistance to magic.
o Have a level 1 resistance to poison.
o Have a level 2 resistance to cold.
o Regenerate health and mana while in forest environments, Level 1.
o Special: Upon gaining the Wicca specialization or Druidry
specialization, a Drow becomes a Magister Drow with statistics
changing by -2 strength, -2 dexterity and +3 intelligence. Drow
who choose to be a warrior in communes, upon gaining the specialization
become a Battle Drow with statistics changing by -4 intelligence,
+3 strength and +1 consitution.

DISADVANTAGES:
o Gain experience more slowly, level 1.
o Heal more slowly from elixirs, level 1.
o Have a level 1 penalty to physical cutting damage.
o Have a level 1 penalty to physical blunt damage.

I know you need balancing but level 1 weakness to blunt and cutting is quite a big thing, since there 4 out of the 12 guilds that use those type of attack, then there's the Geomancer staff and anything else that actually does that damage, thought the Poison Cold and magic will be ok against mages and the like, though you dont really fight mages one on one.

Ok 19 int will be NICE!!! *CONVERTS!!*
Unknown2005-04-18 12:28:05
Don't like the idea, and as I said, the name is copyrighted tongue.gif
Unknown2005-04-18 12:32:20
No drow. If you want dark elves make them Svart Alfar or Dock Alfar.
Iridiel2005-04-18 12:58:12
Somehow, when I think of a tainted elfen I just think of a Viscanti. I would like more to see tainted faelings, call them imps, but with batlike wings tongue.gif
Unknown2005-04-18 13:28:36
Most names are copy righted, Dwarf would be, Human would be Elfen would be, point is just because it is, doesn't meant we cant make it different, i mean you could make a Good Drow instead of having the evil one ohmy.gif Shock horror!
Unknown2005-04-18 13:53:31
Please, no drows. Elves or dwarves are so common it's like a standard, drows are not, they're d&d only, and Lusternia is not d&d.
Erion2005-04-18 14:01:35
It's kind of an over-played joke. We all know there won't be Drow. tongue.gif

*prays*
Desdemona2005-04-18 16:44:46
If not drow, call them trow or Daoi-sith.

By the way, people who dare copyright things that are ancient in mythology should be sued. Seriously...
Thorgal2005-04-18 17:07:39
The point of my post was playing around with stats and advantages/disadvantages, I don't care what the race is called..
Terenas2005-04-18 17:10:50
The 19 intelligence seems a bit too nice, especially if you don't know what abilities they might get as well. If they have an ability to boosts intelligence by 1 just like Drawdown, throw in knowledge blessing and you get 22 intelligence, I don't want to imagine the damage potential with that.
Sylphas2005-04-18 18:53:51
22 int, war blessing, arti sceptre, and champion cudgel would be nasty.

EDIT: Wait, no. Cudgel does cutting damage.

One thing I don't like about Merians that I see here is that the specialization has a stat gain that is vital to the class but a stat loss that has nothing to do with anything. -2 str and dex? What is the real disadvantage there? If they are going to base 19 int, they should then have like 10 con since you have to remember that yellow will give them +1 con anyways.
Sylphas2005-04-18 19:12:33
And Imperial Merian have the highest int in the game, but make up for it by having the lowest con of any race but faeling. 19 int and 12 con would be awesomely good.
Gwylifar2005-04-18 19:38:13
Any race that just got formed this year doesn't have a racial language yet. Languages in IREland already are suspending disbelief pretty hard, but that'd be hanging it by the neck until dead.
Nyla2005-04-18 19:41:05
Elfen + Fae = faeling
Unknown2005-04-19 00:37:07
Tainted Undead Elfen + Fae = Nasty wicked Faeling tongue.gif
Unknown2005-04-19 00:47:18
Thank you. I was hoping someone would notice that.

Evil Faeling specialization = good.
Daganev2005-04-19 00:49:49
You mean.. .like a redcap? tongue.gif
