Back to Common Grounds.

Ugh, the last thing we need is a faeling race..

I hate having 10 con as a Mugwump, I'd hate to end up losing another for specialising.
Elryn2005-04-19 00:55:41
I would prefer a new tainted 'faeling' race to faeling tainted specializations.

But I have accepted that my enjoyment is not paramount to any other. So I'm not going to complain. closedeyes.gif

Then don't switch, froggy. You're fine. ninja.gif

Meh, but I want to get away from the fire/lightning weakness because it's so horrendously unbalanced... sad.gif

Level 2 eq with 15 int and 10 con is nice, but lightning/fire lvl 3 is so bad it completely mitigates any benefit and then some.

Edit: As a note, I made my decision to go Mugwump before we had weapon artis.

Horrendously unbalanced? No. Not really. There should be some major drawback to the fastest equilibrium based class that also has above average intelligence. Take Grooks, for example, in Aetolia. They had only +1 equilibrium and had +3 fire/lightning penalty.

Aetolia is not Lusternia.

Knights here are cripplingly painful, as are Aquamancers.

You may think it's good, but that's because you're an outside looking in. If I could be a Glomdoring citizen with Imperial Merian stats I'd take it in a heartbeat.

I'm glad that you are bias. Next.

My turn!

Anyone who is Dwarf or plans to be Dwarf should be subject to an obstacle course, full of various ailments and other impediments. Only those that pass should be allowed to take that race, since otherwise it would be seen as overpowered and popular.
Elryn2005-04-19 01:41:24
Here would be my suggestion, but it may not be what everyone is looking for:

Faespawn.

Strength : 10 Dexterity : 14 Constitution : 12
Intelligence : 14 Size : 7 Charisma : 14

ADVANTAGES:
o Have a racial language, Viscanti.
o Can FLY.
o Recover balance faster, level 2.
o Have a level 1 resistance to poison.
o Have a level 2 resistance to cold.
o Regenerate health and mana while in taint environments, Level 2.
o Can SHROUD upon reaching level 50. (Covers room in magical darkness)

DISADVANTAGES:
o Gain experience more slowly, level 1.
o Recover equilibrium slower during the day, level 1.

That's my idea of what Taint might do to a normal Faeling. Greater strength, constitution and size, but slightly less maneuverability. Still the level 2 regeneration, slight resistances, and a racial ability. Although they are slightly disadvantaged during the day, they are able to summon magical night. Would work best as a specialization race, of course.

It should be tainted forests but sure.
Elryn2005-04-19 01:44:55
Nah, we can regenerate in tainted forests. I don't see why they can't have an equally useful regeneration that extends outside their own organization.

In that light, I would think they should regenerate in forests just the same then. I don't see why a faespawn should regenerate in a tainted urban area...
Elryn2005-04-19 01:50:54
Well, I don't want to get into this again, but it makes more sense to me that a tainted race living in the forest would still be more at home in tainted wasteland than pure untainted forest.

Meh, it was just an idea.

Edit: And I'm not sure about the slower eq during the day. I wanted something that suited them more to nighttime, but maybe that was a little harsh.
Nyla2005-04-19 01:56:38
I'd rather it be a specialization rather than a new race

Nyla = Faeling

Nyla != New thing

Wonder why?
Daganev2005-04-19 01:58:15
I really would like Redcaps to be the specialized race.

HELP REDCAP

Upon buying yourself a red hat the Redcap gets +4 int, +2 dex and +6 Charisma.

Alger2005-04-19 02:35:21
you all should just be goblins... mhm
Unknown2005-04-19 02:48:05
Booo Hisss, Bad Goblins, BAD!! The redcap idea would actually be pretty cool, though they could just be normal elfen instead with no new specialization or nothing, that'd burst yer bubble! biggrin.gif
Daganev2005-04-19 03:00:25
Oh can't believe I forgot.

HELP REDCAP

Advantages:
can CACKLE upon reaching level 50. (causes a brief stun while staring at you and wondering why someone so rediculous looking sounds so evil)
