Well, I think I know who voted for XYZ now.

I say we let them join.  Don't want the game to end to quickly.

Um, you don't even know who XYZ is. How do you know who voted for him/her? That it starts with X doesn't mean it is / isn't Xenthos (only most likely name I can think of that you'd think is XYZ). I could have said ABC, but I just prefer XYZ.
Shiri2005-04-20 18:38:35
...huh.gif I think he was using XYZ as "unknown variables 1/2/3" to you, but he knows them. I don't think X has any correlation with Xenthos. :/
Nayl2005-04-20 19:20:03
I vote for Summer.
Failing that, I vote for... Popular Demand Man: Xenthos himself

Right, thats not what I ment. I assume it implied that one soulless voted differently than all the other soulless, then got outvoted etc.
Xenthos2005-04-20 20:55:10
Bah... you're calling me soulless, Soll? I assume now you'll be calling Shiri soulless tomorrow, as he's said he is a guardian too... easy way to get rid of us, strike while everyone believes you. *mutters*

I vote Soll, obviously, but meh... voting against the tide, here.

EDIT: Though as it seems the guardians are known, that gives the rest of the soulless free reign, now. Great... you win, Soll. Grats.
Soll2005-04-20 20:58:25
I'll be calling whomever I know to be Soulless a Soulless tommorow, Xenthos.
Unknown2005-04-20 21:13:45
awww

I wanna play next time smile.gif
Xenthos2005-04-20 21:58:37
The way I see it- if I was soulless, I would have made sure Soll got attacked last night. On the other hand, if I was a guardian and it was pretty clear that I'd be guarded- it's best not to even try for me, and instead attempt to vote me off during the day.

And it's working sad.gif
Shiri2005-04-20 22:03:34
That works both ways though, as you were probably fairly sure Soll would be guarded.
Daganev2005-04-20 22:32:21
Please do not vote Xenthos off, get Quidgyboo, its much less dangerous.

I'm fairly surprised the Soulless did not even attempt to kill Soll.
Xenthos2005-04-20 22:36:43
Then why weren't you slain in the night, when not guarded?

I mean, the entire point of a soulless pretending to be a guardian would be to pull guardians away from a seer, allowing the seer to be slain- and the "seer" was not.

Oooh I'm popular here too! Well, Daganev likes me at least.

Knowing how the last game panned out and seeing what he is saying this time, I am voting Shiri.

Shiri

I don't think we should believe or disbelieve Shiri, Xenthos, and Soll yet. I don't know - someone's a Soulless out of the group, especially if one of the three doesn't bite the dust in the middle of the night.

I don't totally disbelieve Soll. On the other hand, I doubt he'd have the luck to pull 2 Soulless, one random, in the first two nights.

Also, I sincerely hope the other seer checked Soll last night. Check Xenthos and Shiri the next couple nights. At any point if you have successfully found at least THREE Soulless, reveal yourself. At such point, I think we should kill all three 'Soulless' and yourself. Such a gambit is worth it - either we sacrifice 3 regular Elders for a Soulless, or 1 Seer for 3 Soulless - both justifiable.
Unknown2005-04-21 02:12:05
There are 13 non-Soulless and 4 Soulless. We lose at 4 non-Soulless left, so we only have 9 potential losses. At worst, we have lost 3 already, and could be in the process of voting out a 4th.

IF Soll is truthful, we're killing a second Soulless, and we're kicking butt. IF Soll is lying, we're sacrificing a Guardian (which I don't think we should do, yet). Don't vote Xenthos this round, but give the other seer the night to check Xenthos, and then reveal themselves the next night. The next night, this 'Seer' could be a liar, but Xenthos can protect them during the night, and we can eventually kill the Seer anyway.

Hrm. (rambling, I know) - I'd say any Seer revealing themselves should be killed after 2 reveals, if the Soulless hasn't hit it yet. This means that at worst, we sac 2 Elders for 1 Soulless (a good gamble) or get 2 Soulless for 1 Seer (a good gamble also).

I'm abstaining at the moment, but will probably vote for Soll next round unless a Seer or Guardian notifies me I should do otherwise.

As we've gotten 2 Soulless already, according to Soll (I suppose we should kill Xenthos, though if better minds say otherwise, let's note - I'm still abstaining right now, however), NO GUARDIAN should guard Soll. IF Soll dies, he's telling the truth, and we've lost 2 Elders and a Seer for 2 Soulless, and still have a Seer left (hopefully), who can immediately scout for the other Soulless. If he doesn't die, he's a Soulless, but just in case such is a ploy by the Soulless to get us to kill him for them, we'll just ignore him from then on out.

Grr, I'm tired. Any thoughts?
Unknown2005-04-21 02:17:06
Actually, and I think we should take a blind vote, 17 people originally, 14 now - at best, 3 Soulless, 10 non-Soulless, at worst, 4 Soulless, 9 non-Soulless.

IF 9/13 (at worst, 4 Soulless+5 Elders) vote YES, I think ALL Seers and Guardians should 100% reveal themselves. This will allow open cooperation between them, and allow them to find out who is who. Con is that Soulless can find out who they are, but if the Guardians guard randomly, the Soulless only get a 50% chance of killing one of the 4.

If less than 9/13, ignore my rambling, and let some other person take the reins wink.gif
Daganev2005-04-21 02:20:53
I was thinking the same thing bob, only not with so many words. words confuse people.
Shiri2005-04-21 02:33:23
I didn't get all that, but okay. >_>
Navaryn2005-04-21 02:52:48
Nice argument but i still trust Soll because of one single thing...

He called himself a Seer and exposed Laysus as a Soulless after Night 1.

Impersonating a Seer as a Soulless at Night 1 would be incredibly stupid and/or risky since the real Seer(s) would obviously check him and expose him if he was lying.

But Laysus himself admitted to being a Soulless and no Seer showed up calling Soll a Soulless. Laysus admitting to be a Soulless definitely label Soll as a Seer. So, why would a Seer call someone a Soulless if he wasn't one?

If anything, everyone trying to switch votes from Xenthos, a confirmed Soulless, to anyone else are Soulless as well.
Daganev2005-04-21 03:18:02
Its actually not that risky. there are two seers, and each seer only knows about themselves, so each seer will assume soll is just the other one and not bother checking them.
Sylphas2005-04-21 04:04:29
I find it suspicious that he found two Soulless, back to back like that, even if he did have help from Laysus. He had no reason to name the other Soulless, and much more to take innocent elders with him.

Even if he isn't two Soulless for one Seer is a great trade.

I'll vote for Xenthos today, but I don't trust Soll anymore.
