QUOTE(terenas @ Apr 20 2005, 10:40 AM)
I don't really see what people are arguing about. If Glom gets some capable leaders it will prosper and grow, if it gets some crappy ones, they will most likely get replaced soon enough. No need to get so worked up over who would be the first commune leaders or GMs or whatnot. Considering that it will take a long time for the admins to code in 3 new guilds and a bunch of skillsets. I don't see even see Glom having any guilds for a while.

Agreed. I, personally, don't think it's a big deal, but Vis does.. Then again he's kind of odd
As for guilds, I'd bet they're probably coded/nearly so, since I imagine that there will be many shared things between Seren/Glom. The whole idea of specialisations, I think, is that you could give the Tainted Wiccans something like Nature/Totems and just let them specialise into the Glom set. Saves some work
QUOTE(Narsrim @ Apr 20 2005, 10:43 AM)
My point is simply that you have done nothing special for someone who is arrogant enough to post /themself/ as a good choice for a leader. Although I think it is cute that you are foolish enough to believe that Magnagora's aide in any shape or form stems from your involvement. Magnagora is rather smart. They are in it for themselves and they do believe that they can manipulate/get something out of Glomdoring...
And you had 0 influence when it came to defending Rowena/Brenna, etc. It would be Daevos, Murphy, Kaervas, Veonira, Revan, Arilyon, etc... who take all the credit for that.

My biggest contribution has been in the form of talking and roleplaying. And you're surprisingly willing to talk about things you don't know.
Also, hence the comment "supporting". Support involves webbing, aeon, etc
Daganev2005-04-20 17:47:35
Eventually anyone should be able to join the commune.
I think it would be pretty idiotic to not let people join just because their charachter doesn't have a reason to yet.

Agreed. Although a no-new characters wouldn't be a bad idea in my humble opinion
Manjanaia2005-04-20 17:50:59
Knew I should have moved to join the raisers quicker. Damn my laziness. And yeah I think it would make sense to not have any newbies just yet.

Don't make the assumption that because Narsrim is against Glomdoring that he doesn't know what's going on. Magnagora has spies in Serenwilde and Celest. Serenwilde has spies in Glomdoring and Magnagora... I mean seriously, some people couldn't keep their mouths shut if their lives depended on it.
On an OOC level, I talk with several persons who have been involved in the Glomdoring ordeal and they have ranted more than once about you.
Spy + Information + OOC ranting about you = good idea of what's going on.
Shiri2005-04-20 18:04:04
Visaeris likes to pull the "you don't know what you're talking about, no one but me knows my pain" card, so no matter how valid the rest of what he's saying is (and it may well be), ignore that part.
I hope Glomdoring isn't invite only. It'll save them from the alt-flood (or rather, delay it), but one of my friends and I were planning to go there and enjoy some early-Glom RP without snatching for positions at all, and it would just be sad if we had to wait.

I'm tired of people running around wanting positions. I've said time after time that I want the commune to come first, and people will fall into positions after that. The only way you get something accomplished well is by putting the goal first, and yourselves second. This is something I've learned out of the game, and is one thing that is slightly out of character for me (powerhungry evil guy). I try, as both a person and a player, to get things started, get our goal done, because if we don't have a commune, we can't have people lead it, aye?
I've also said more than once that I'd love Ebonguard GM, GA, sec, or Glomdoring treasurer, but you know what? If I don't, it's not the end of the world.
There are a few people who I think can lead. But you know, I just want this done right.
Love,
Richter

Maybe, but it's still better to give high positions to people that know what they're doing, but openly say they want the positions, than to people that're all quiet and humble, but haven't got a clue what they're dealing with.

I find this whole Glomdoring power thing to be absolutely retarded. There are no leaders in Glomdoring, the ones who would best fit the bill dont step up, and the two that do are possibly the two least suited to lead. Its not like the damn power matters anyway. From my perspective as a player, I know that people recognize and respect the cultural work Ive been putting into things, and Ill likely have leeway with the GA whoever it is.
Plus Im enjoying the Moralis mystery currently, despite my other forum rants to the contrary. (gotta keep up the appearance, you know. Cant let people think Im not just a whiney compulsive brat )
I think the most fun in all of this though, has been weaving the details of Glomdoring, as the Divines release them, into a cultural support structure, then bouncing it off all of the other great people supporting it, such as Arilyon, Daganev, Yuniko, and so many others. It truly has been a great experience for me. The level of IC interaction is great, Ive had a lot of time to develop my character from her starting point, as a self absorbed, arrogant, spiteful child, into a character that is growing more mature, patient, and subtle with each passing month.
OOCly its been a blast too, the hours and hours Ive put into writing source material for the night coven and glomdoring as a whole when it comes into being has been so much fun. Special thanks goes to Daganev, whose OOC work is often credited to the ancient Gloriana druid D'ohbaer. Now Ive just got to get ahold of some divines, once Ive passed this stuff by the GA and ministers of culture, to set up an event with Rowena relating these things from the Oral traditions so we can write them down... I hope that can be done, but if it cant, Im sure we will find some way to use it all.
Oh, and Ive gained a lot of newfound respect for everyone involved, even Erion and Visaeris, for the huge amounts of OOC time they spend fretting and pouring over every detail in hopes of figuring out what is best to do next, and also respect for the way (in most cases, excepting a few flub ups) they handle themselves in their roles to a tee. Its been a blast doing this with all of you. Viravain, if youre out there listening, youve been a lot of fun too, your actions, along with discussions with Daganev and Gwyn and many others helped form the core of the cause of Morrigana changing and transforming as a character. Also, roleplaying with you, and Moralis too has been a lot of fun.
... wow it seems Ive ranted quite a long ways, and managed to say very little, but thanks for listening anyways!

Personally, i'm just pissed that i'm currently missing my second event in Lusternia.
First, i missed the whole thing with Kethuru and now that i had a chance to get involved in something and help any way i can, my computer decides to blow up and it'll be 2 more weeks where i will just be some guy in a clan, not involved in anything.
I hate computers

Hence why I said I -want- a position, but I won't backstab and claw for one. I should, due to RP, but I won't, because I'm a decent person.
Still not going to be a pansy though, because Karrah would think I was being a whimp.

I don't know who's going to get what, and I think it's really too early to say. The thread kinda... feels wrong. There's more to this event than who's gonna get the shiny titles
I also don't like the thoughts that lots of high level Mags are going to be leaving for it... it FEELS like a takeover as someone else said. As long as it's all roleplayed well I don't really mind either way though

If all of you can drop any kind of battle over egos I think the entire lot of you make an excellent group. Of course I'm pulling for The Court but being totally objective Vis, Erion, Kaervas, and Veonira would make good leaders in the right spots too.
Llexyn2005-04-20 19:32:17
I know something most of you don't. Just to tease, I'm not saying a thing about it. We'll see who gets leadership of what and believe me ... put the socks on. Cause when it happens, they'll all be knocked off.
Daganev2005-04-20 19:33:29
In regards to Magnagorans...
As Viravain put it...
Who wouldn't want to help such a beutifull forest?

I suppose I could agree with that. I don't see why it's a point of OOC contention in any case. The future will be shaped by IC actions and decisions, and it really doesn't matter what we think OOCly
My only concern at this point is that it come soon. Having no skills and ~6000 lessons is kind of frustrating.

Y'know, if you've got secret knowledge, it's not nice to tease people with the fact that you have it and they don't.
