Back to Common Grounds.

I didn't want to point that out, thought the material spoke for itself.
Yuniko2005-04-21 01:56:53
Uhh, yea, I don't see any snuggling on the forums, point it out for me?
Yuniko2005-04-21 02:01:38
Ok, there is a difference between snuggly and hyper. Learn it.
Unknown2005-04-21 02:04:59
She's not snuggly, she has all her jewellery, it hurts to snuggle her, much herts blink.gif Not that i'd do it, you know being the whole anti glom serewilder happy.gif

Just want to say, I am not advocating anybody as leaders here. However, you are overlooking one important aspect. You have a large group of people with an uncertain direction. Human nature means that someone in that large group is going to try and be the leader, the rest can follow, or find a different leader.

I find what is going on perfectly acceptable behaviour, because it is human nature. It is what we all do. Watch a group of kids in a playground one day. One of them always trys to bully into being the leader, and he is either squashed by the rest of the kids, followed because nobody says no, or ignored in favour of someone else.

Keep on fighting for who should be leader, it is healthy for all of you, you need to work out who is going to lead what, whether it be appointed right off the bat or elections come about.
Devris2005-04-21 06:52:45
I think the main argument, and I could be wrong, were all the people now fighting for power who have showed 0 interest in the Glomdoring till it came close to reality. Now they can see it on the horizon, and instantly are jockeying for a GMship or high rank in the commune. I don't have a problem with people who know the forest trying for positions, it's the people jumping in now that is the big tunroff.

I'm happy where I'm at currently, but have kept a close eye on that forest from behind the scenes. Some people have worked the whole time, some people have not. Those people who have not need to take a backseat and just follow the rest who know about that place into this event.

I agree that it is human nature to jockey for position like that for power, but much like human nature...you must have knowledge of that which you want power in. I could not just go out tomorrow and ask to be Pope, nor could someone in Europe walk over to the US and ask to be President. It wouldn't happen. I just hope, and I think they do, the people behind the scenes here have been watching who has worked their arse off. Not look at the people who have joined now and are vocal, or folks who disappeared for long periods and came back strictly for this event. Those who were around the whole time need to be rewarded for dedication just in my humble opinion.

With that being said, I will continue to happily be a meatshield in the Ur'guard ! Hail Meatshields! (referring to Luthe's post *g*)
Erion2005-04-21 11:28:07
I don't see so many people jumping on since it became a certainty. The closest would be Visaeris and Luthe, one of which I don't think I have qualms over as a leader. The rest of us have been going at it for a long time. The Summer Court has a viable excuse as to why they only now joined the attempt.

Elaria's been going at it a long time, she was just subtle over it.. don't mistake subtle for no interest. She got one step away from raising Crow herself some years back and chickened out. It'd probably have looked bad on her Honours as a Celestine tongue.gif

And as a faeling!! tongue.gif

honestly i dont see anything great in-store for Glomdoring. Its almost sad, but yeah thats how i see it. The city needs dedicated people. The fact is, its going to be very hard for a new city/commune to catch up to the existing 3. Its going to be rough, very rough. Be it identity or villages or border protection, compared to the other 3 cities/commune they dont stand a chance. So if ever there was going to be a leader it should be the one who will stick to it no matter how ugly things may go. And who amongst the available people actually fits that description?

I think you're right. It's going to be very hard, and I suspect after the alt-wave passes there's going to be a very small population. A lot of the people who switch probably won't stay, or will go back home out of frustration.

Glomdoring's going to be coming into an environment that's got every other organisation hostile to it(Viravain sort of ensured that one wacko.gif ) and with smaller numbers and no hugename fighters.. It'll be rough.

I'm sure there'll be a core group who stays with it, regardless of whatever happens. Glom's basically the reason I started playing Lusternia in the first place, so it'd be rather foolish if I didn't stay with it no matter what, once it gets here tongue.gif

Moved to another thread.
Gaetele2005-04-21 15:48:34
Gae would hate to be a leader of any sort in the Glomdoring (which is good, really, because she doesn't really do anything except collect shadows and help feed Rowena). She RPs a bit with some of the Glom people, but she just usually sits back and helps if she's needed. By nature, she hates any leadership positions (never getting above GR2 in any guild she's been in before). But if she were to nominate people for leadership positions...

Commune leader: Eh. Not picky.
Commune ambassador: Veonira (if she joins) Arilyon (if not)
Commune patron: Viravain (Duh.)
Commune trade person: Richter.

Shadowdancer leader: Veonira
Shadowdancer champion:
Shadowdancer admin: Arilyon
Shadowdancer envoy:
Shadowdancer secs: Erion, Morrigana
Shadowdancer patron: ?

Raven Circle leader:
Raven Circle champion: Ceres
Raven Circle admin: Moralis
Raven Circle envoy:
Raven Circle secs:
Raven Circle patron: Viravain

Ebonguard leader:
Ebonguard champion: Luthe
Ebonguard admin:
Ebonguard envoy:
Ebonguard secs: Gaetele (coughcough)
Ebonguard patron: Viravain, most likely

Yeah. She's not picky.
Gwylifar2005-04-21 15:48:52
I'm convinced. Richter should be the Grand High Poobah of Glomdoring, or whatever they end up calling him.

Hmmm..... night, eh? Maybe Dark Black Pitch Angst King, instead. biggrin.gif
Erion2005-04-21 16:33:42
I'm guessing it's a royal title, so Ebonglom Queen or Summer King?

Ceres2005-04-21 17:04:33
Night coven champion: whistling.gif

I shall say no more.
Unknown2005-04-21 17:32:04
I'd love to try for the Shadowdancer Champion, but I don't think I'll even bother with it because of the huge amount of interest I've heard in it... sad.gif I've been wanting to try mage/druid for a while so I might go there and see how it goes.

*refuses to name anyone* I have a feeling half those elected originally will be a big let down so.. -continues refusing- Almost everyone named thus far sucks *sparkle*
