Better hope they're better than badgers. They were worthless in Achaea, and they didn't even have chervil.
Unknown2005-04-21 03:32:26
well 100+ instant bleeding wouldn't be a bad attack, since most people clot straight away, it'd be nice for bleeding to actually work, and have it go up by 50 or something. The dog should bark really loudly or something, deafen and stun them for a while

I didn't say it'd do a bleed attack. I meant it might have something to do with bleeding attacks. As in, you have another ability that causes bleeding damage, and if your target reaches a certain amount of bleeding, the Redcap becomes invigorated...
You can insert a random possibility after the ...

I doubt you could really call them 'dogs'...hounds is much cooler. Like the Hounds that hunted with the ruler of the Underworld in most Celtic myths. All white except blood red ears and eyes, that never failed to bring down their game. Horay for hounds!
Erion2005-04-21 11:31:41
I call them hounds. Although for you brits, or you people that have read Harry Potter, think Grim.
Shiri2005-04-21 15:14:53
We do have hounds and that sort of mythology here too, y'know.
Gwylifar2005-04-21 15:42:59
I don't think it's that unreasonable for them to have fae that do the same things. Tarot users in Magnagora and Celest do the same things. Dreamweavers all do the same things, Blademasters all do the same things, Runes users all do the same things, etc. etc. That doesn't prevent the various guilds from having their own unique flavor and style and combat tactics, because it's not the skills, it's the way they fit together (or in the case of warriors, don't fit together) that makes the combatant.

I know. I don't know what you call them - I've been lead to believe it's called a Grim. Or a Gwyllgi, if you're from that area.

Those are secondary skills though. Nihilism is not Celestialism (for the most part) Druidry is not Geomancy which is not Aquamancy, and Sacraments is not Necromancy.

My suspicions:
Slaugh - Slightly-higher-than-banshee-level damage, but only to health.
Redcap - bleeding. Probably no more useful than Achaean badgers.
Hound - Either 1: Howl for mana drain or 2: Stun like an Achaean chimera.

More stun = please, Divine, no. No more stun.

I agree. Stun is rediculously overdone here and Achaea. Knights alone get 4 stunning abilities in Athletics, Bonecrushers can stun as well, heck even headbutt in Stag used to stun. Every single class can stun besides Moondancers, it has became incredibly redundant.
Daganev2005-04-21 22:07:54
Redcap should cause bleeding and give thinblood or some other nice blood disease.
Hound is all about Shadow, so ... blackout.

And even we get shieldstun.
And aarh, Daganev, no, not blackout either. Both of those afflictions are way too lethal. >_<
Daganev2005-04-21 23:48:40
Your right, I wasn't thinking clearly..
Hound, bleeding, blindess, and blackout, oh and fear

Hound, Slaugh, Redcap.
Mana drain, health drain, bleeding.
