Somehow I pictured them to be bulkier, like Dag's pic, but good picutre nonetheless.
Terenas2005-04-21 16:49:51
Um, what are those types of weapons he's wielding? I'd thought flails have spikes or something and they don't look like hammers to me.
Ceres2005-04-21 16:50:49
Maces.

Who the heck uses a rounded mace with no spikes? Their best features are the abilities to penetrate armor such as scale and chainmail. You can't penetrate armor with a rounded iron ball!
Ceres2005-04-21 16:58:49
Because the rest of Lusternia is so realistic, yes.

Who needs penetrating armor? He's a friggin bonecrusher. He crushes bones . You can bet that if one of those maces hits you, wearing a sheet of metal won't stop your arm or whatever from being broken.
Gwylifar2005-04-21 17:27:44
Which is actually quite historically accurate. In the time when swords were a primary weapon, a broken bone could certainly be fatal a shockingly large amount of the time, but a sword to unprotected flesh was virtually always fatal. (In both cases, many of the deaths happened days later, from infection, though.) Swords cost a lot more to make than clubs (heck, a heavy branch is almost a club), but for thousands of years money-hungry empires found the money to pay for swords for their armies, because they got the job done ten times better than a bludgeon. Even when peasants were conscripted, they were out there using sharpened farm implements most of the time (from which most of our polearms descended), not blunt weapons.

That's funny, given that you can't see his feet.

*cant help but think* "this is what you get when firing the cocacola bears"

This is my favorite pictures. I absolutely love it. (especially now that we're moving away from the humanoid ones.)
Desdemona2005-04-21 18:40:14
The bear is so skinny and with great muscle tone... I know why! He just roused from hibernation, and is right now hunting for food with those giant boulders he calls maces.
Daganev2005-04-21 19:09:41
the biceps look to small for his forearms to be a bear, thtas igasho looking to me, but the picture is accurate and the more accurate it is the more faults people will find with it, since well you know, nature isn't perfect and iconic looking.

With his white fur, this tae'dae's origins are most likely from the Northern Mountains, perhaps even further north in arctic regions. And who but a tae'dae could wield those massive maces! As handsome and well groomed as this tae'dae may be, the cold fire in his eyes makes me think that you wouldn't want to get on his bad side.

Why do you keep quoting the picture, Asmoth? I'm pretty sure everyone's seen it before... y'know, at the beginning of the thread

Why does he have popeye forearms instead of big biceps...
Was he eating spinach?
Did the artist ever do a popeye comic?
And for such a big bear... that's such a small codpiece... I'm not gay or anything but... give a brotha some love when you're drawing him!
