Mages rule at bashing, less tanky than a guardian but kills noticeably quicker.

You should've seen me as a Merian Aquamancer. All I could kill was the Scorpions on Astral, which was weird. Everyone complained they were too hard, but I could usually take two of them without sipping thanks to the Demesne. Using healspring, deluge, and sweetfount the afflictions weren't a problem, I'd regen more than one scorpion could do damage-wise, and the scorpions died in 5 odd hits from the Aquamancer staff. Those were the days.

Edit: Might be that you got hit with an invisible attack first and then that high damage one.. the most they ever did to me in one hit without numen was about 3.5k

So? It costs 3 power, and you gain 7 power a minute with transcendent discipline.

For a complete cutting in half of ALL damage, that is simply amazing.
