Or... just don't give them healing at all! Force them to take Hexes! Muahaha!
Sekreh2005-04-25 03:59:39
I'm taking Hexes, but trust me, its not because I want to.
Just really that Healing makes no sense.
If you give us tarot, you will rue it to the end of your days
*point shadowcaster faeling with level 3 balance*
As if we're not overpowered enough. Not that I would really complain IC.

Seriously... Tarot... I would personaly hug every divine if we were given tarot rather than healing... Can anyone say Occies?...wait, with the night skills... we would be more powerful than occies.
Thats a bit disturbing...
Especially considering some of our skills, the entourage, and what level 3 balance would do to it. It would mean if we were on the defensive, there would be no possible path to victory. As is, I think, when we are able to influence, everyone will be quite surprised by what happens.
If only we had more than two people abouve CR1...
tarot... *drools*
lessee... I wonder how many tarot cards I can fling while my entourage is hitting my foes as a faeling... lesse, between all the fae, I think there might be a 1 second window once the effects of hangedman and aeon are mixed in, in which to hit me. And with soulless rubs? Do you really want to face soulless rubs at level 3 balance, with them toting around a full set of ents, as well as some of the nastier Night abilities?

You're already godly on defense. Longnight makes unbreakable demesnes (when you have them), and you have retardation with paralysis, bleeding, and afflictions, all passive. And they don't go away like vibes used to do in retardation. *shudder*
With tarot, you'd be INSANE.

Rub soulless, choke, fling soulless. Yay.
Yes, it'd be to easy.

It wouldn't make any sense ooc or ic.
Elryn2005-04-26 08:05:25
Meh, fine, no tarot then.
I still think Healing makes very little sense for Glomdoring, but it isn't too big a deal I guess. I see it everywhere, realism must be superceded by issues of balance.

I always wanted a necromantic based skill, versus healing. Give us undead influencing!
Shiri2005-04-27 13:53:37
You'd need rituals for that, it wouldn't work. :/

I have a better idea: instead of healing, give shadowdancers Vodun from Achaea.

*holds up the +2 Nerf Stick of Slay Overpoweredness*
EDIT: I can't spell overpoweredness

Well, think about it.
Tarot, in Choke.
Need I say more?
Fake Edit: Fiiiiine, I will, well, hangedman, aeon, soulless, moon tarot, love.
Just to name a few.
All in choke.

I like Erion's idea. Some necromantic skillset.
I still say healing for shadowdancers is just... bizarre. Perfect in terms of game mechanics and balance, rather weird in terms of concept.
But I think the admin need just a little break before the next lot of big changes.

There is nothing to change Elryn, it's the way the archetypes are designed.. wiccas just get healing or hexes, whatever their affiliation.
Elryn2005-05-23 00:29:47
As I said, it's fine in terms of game mechanics. Concept is a different matter.
Guardians can choose between healing, hexes and tarot, depending on their affiliation. I don't see why Wiccans are locked into just two without any hope of new ones.

If they get Tarot, I get Wicca. It'd make about as much sense. And no, I'm not going to explain that, feeling Shiroish.
"Oh, Mother Night, grant me you.. screw it, gimme the damn Pooka. Now."

It would make sense for there to be another skillset, and then make it so that Shadowdancers pick between the new skillset & hexes, and Moondancers pick between the new skillset & healing. Then it's like Celestines & Nihilists with tarot, which makes equal sense for Celestines or Nihilists, but no sense at all for Wiccans. Of course, there's no real reason to do this other than that I like things to be all symmetrical and equivalent and stuff, but it'd be cool .
But yeah, healing doesn't make overly much sense for Shadowdancers. Except, of course, that sometimes not letting something die can be less merciful than letting it die .
