ooer. I get more experience /when/ I kill something. That has no actual reflection on combat. You were talking about how unbalanced faelings "were" with combat.
Unknown2005-04-27 05:58:47
And you were talking about things being imbalanced just because. So please, shut it.
Just because something has level 2 slow balance doesn't mean it won't have stats and other things to make up for it. The same should apply for Faeling and it was semi-fixed.
A dexterity/charisma fix would be wonderful though. That influence thing is silly.

Hiya Shiri.
Race is for RP. RP doesn't imply suitability for combat. You want combat? Choose suitable race. You want RP? choose suitable race. Both aren't working? Aww.
Heck. Morik is a human. You can guess exactly how tanky that makes him, how much damage he can do with cosmic fire and exactly how fast he is. Should humans get upgraded because they're crappy? What would you upgrade with humans?

I'll just point out that RP and combat ability are not mutually exclusive.
Otherwise, why are all the guilds balanced for combat?

Aquamancers are a scholarly guild! They don't deserve to have combat skills. It's for the RP, not combat! Remove their demesne, make them only able to perform fireworks and basic illusions, and take away those runes and all the nasty things such as nightmare in dreamweaving. You can replace it with some super book reading skill or something.
And as for those Hartstone? Psh, their history doesn't say anything about combat balance, why should they get skills like sap and darkseed? Put them in Geomancy!

Come on Shiri, take a breather and calm down, your normally the voice of reason...
I just thought of something though... as a Faeling, I want other players to be able to carry me.

Yeah, I did sound a bit aggro in that last post, sorry.
As for the carrying thing...you can just emote it

Sylphas2005-04-27 17:39:05
Anyone who views me as a cute cuddly faeling, or tries to carry me or any nonsense like that is going to get cudgeled in the face.
Thorgal2005-04-27 17:50:55
Your avatars says otherwise!
Sylphas2005-04-27 17:56:18
I'll have to find an avatar of someone with pointy thorns embedded in their face, then.
Thorgal2005-04-27 17:57:40
Pff, cudgel hurts as much as a squirrel pelting me with acorns.
Sylphas2005-04-27 18:52:42
Damnable cutting damage. Only way we can kill anyone tanky with it is to sap and hope the bleeding stacks. What I wouldn't give to swap my cudgel for an aquamancer's staff.
Thorgal2005-04-27 19:00:54
Cudgel's as bad as cosmicfire .
Shiri2005-04-27 19:03:04
Might be better with the chervil change.
Thorgal2005-04-27 19:06:38
I never even bothered clotting cudgel, let alone eating chervil.
Shiri2005-04-27 19:12:54
...pff, fine.
Unknown2005-04-27 21:17:25
That is why you use NATURE CURSE against warriors, it does ALOT more damage.. unless of course they don't have hexegram AND can't fly.. in which case you cudgel the hell out of them from up above

yeah I wish I could trade staffs too...
cudgel sucks. Torak said the champion cudgel did less than cosmicfire.

I have a suggestion for the administration to establish the contrast between Faelings in their original concept, and shadowfaelings.
This change has no effect upon combat, where the original Faelings were supposed to be crap... but if Influence is improved to be on par with bashing it will give them the advantage over shadowfaelings that I believe was intended.
It makes IC sense because the original faelings draw on the glamours of the forest to sustain their charm and charisma, while the shadow faelings have no need for such things (being of demonic appearance).

How do you know they're demonic in appearance, thats the seren part of you talking!
Desdemona2005-05-08 02:26:15
Specialized races are supposed to be far superior in every single aspect to their basic form, no? I think you can't still fully accept that the Faelings have a great advantage to thrive in Glomdoring, than if they went elsewhere. Imo, your change shouldn't be implemented at all. Or all faelings get the ego regen, or they simply don't get it, imo. Faelings from Glomdoring are the Uberfaeling, nothing wrong with that. You still get to be your precious faeling race.
