I've got to agree with the balance thing and what Elryn said. Maybe that could call them something other than Fae, because my faelings for one will never be considering those poser-fae as anything close to what they are.

Um... Elfen are specifically hated in Magnagora. Last I heard they are not even allowed to draw power. One of your city patrons hate you. In Seren we ahve a guild tutor that is Faeling.

Well, one thing that would suck about a new race being put out.. who do you fit reincarnations into role? It would seem silly that a race only recently discovered has a bunch of people reincarnating to become one, when it wasn't even around at their birth and such.

Why does everything have to be based on the past? Yes, the Fae made contact with Serenwilde, yes, Rowena despised the Fae and thought them weak.. wait a sec.. these Fae have now been twisted by Night.. *gasp* maybe that was a method to make them less weak?

Look, lets get some things straight. The fae themselves were not affected by the Taint, it were the Glomdorers. Fae+Elfen= faeling, intoxicated, mystified faeling+Elfen mess=faeling mess. Also, you could consider that the whole design of the faelings in Glom was made through taking the best from both races: fae and elfen, to create a superior hybrid to repopulate Glomdoring. There isn't much difficulty in that.

Seriously, I'm not sure what you all expected to come out of this, its looking like Serenwilde still trying to grab monopolies on things, except now its a race? I don't think that's going to happen, no one OWNS a race, you have no claim to it, you have no dominion over it, a race can be from any place any time if it wants to be RPly born there. I RP'd an Elfen born in Glomdoring who lived in Magnagora, now is returning home, does that mean its wrong because Serenwilde had the Elfen FIRST? No I dont think so..

Not really. They don't get the level 3 lightning and fire weakness, better dexterity (if that was ever fixed to do anything) and the sip bonus. Their regeneration and ability are also better than a Mugwump.

plus may I also note, those screaming to tune Shadowlords down to lv 1 balance, are insane, +2 size is only 6 size, 6... while Aslaran as a size of 12 and have Level 2, plus can not fly, now how will you justify a Faeling whos slightly larger going down 2 levels of speed to below a race twice its size?

That sort of logic doesn't work. It's pointless trying to justify anything based on realism, the suggestion to tune down the balance on Shadowlord was to prevent them from possibly perm-stun someone in combat, or able to swing at 1 second per. It is a matter of combat balance, not aesthetic concerns.

Just wondering, is that description of what shadow faelings look like really necessary? 'Cause I've been taking my faeling along a different road to being evil-looking for a while now and that really screws up my idea. It's not going to ruin my life if it's non-negotiable, it's just kind of annoying because I liked my idea *sulk*. Then again, considering that I like my stats as they are much more than they will be if I become a Shadowcaster, maybe I just won't get wicca unless I absolutely have to...
