You can't order banshee passive if you're off-eq from using the sleep enchantment, and I always forget to do it beforehand.
Hmm. I know. I'll put it in as part of the sleep macro. And hope I don't fight a Shadowdancer and it hit them.

Good old Narsrim had that in his envoy report. Fear not. One of these days, the pixie and banshee shall work in harmony! Muahaha

That makes no sense Narsrim. Only way to deal damage and not wake someone up is if they're in dreamform.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. It is possible to set the banshee's attack to not wake the target if they are asleep.
Shiri2005-04-29 21:09:56
Okay, I posted about this but it apparently didn't actually...post.

Well, it works for nightmare without waking them up, it can work for banshees. Shrug. It's a mental injury anyway, ne?
Sylphas2005-04-29 21:21:57
It is -possible-, but it doesn't make sense. All other damage attacks aside from Dreamweaving (who are masters of sleep, not Moondancers) wake a target. I'd rather see Moondancers get upgrades that don't make strategy go away. You want extra damage? Aggro your banshee. You want to put them to sleep? Make it passive.

My banshee does like 200 damage and 300 mana damage, don't freak out. Furthermore, your statement is incorrect. There are lots of magical attacks that do damage that do not wake the target: health leech, bleeding attacks (that just do bleeding damage not physical damage), etc.
Sylphas2005-04-29 21:35:01
Bleeding isn't an attack. Causing bleeding is an attack that does no damage. And do you mean an active ability that leeches health, or the affliction? If the affliction, that's still different then a damaging attack.
Still, that's not my main point. Why not ask for something creative, that actually involves some strategy besides aggroing the entourage, lashing a bit, waning a bit, then toadcursing?

I think you are missing the point. This has a huge element of strategy to it. Hex users for example could more readily work to keep a target asleep and slowly kill them over time (assuming they weren't smart enough to use metawake) if banshee didn't wake the target up. And guess what, my envoy report is more than 1 suggestion. There is some other stuff included this was just a minor suggestion to help Hex users (and primarily Shadowdancers in choke if you want to be technical as it would work wonders for them) because it would make keeping a target asleep worth something.
Furthermore, you will never kill anyone decent if you just lash a bit and go for toadcurse. We have other strategies, which I use all the time (in fact, you can find tons of threads on them and how people don't like some of my more creative forces along with various other tactics like using bedevil effectively, etc).
