Request to Fighters

Okay, I'm not a fighter. I'll never be a fighter. My blood pressure just gets too high when I get into any kind of fight, and my hands shake uncontrolably.

My request is that all you fighters make some pages on the Wiki, for tips on fighting. Some people may consider how they fight to be sacred secrets, but remember that the highest form of flattery is imitation..

Anyway, I'm not looking for a system to be put up there that will make people invincible.. Just put up tips, and stuff like that.

Link is in my Sig!

It's harder to do that than you'd probably think. :/

Although I'm not a fighter, it is probably safe for me to conclude that experience is the best way to get better at fighting. Keep sparring and keep fighting you'll eventually get good at it. Practice practice practice.
Singollo2005-04-25 03:00:03
Why wouldn't people post them here rather than there?
Sylphas2005-04-25 04:01:53
Much easier to find there, and that's what the site is for? Keeping track of threads here is a pain, and if they're sticky, it's just unwieldy, like General.

I agree. That LusterWiki is a great tool, and more folks should take advantage of the format. If you happen to know some HTML, it's even better. You can use a better layout for information and provide simple hyperlinks to related topics without having to browse and read dozens of topics on the forums.

Or...you can buy my system...or...read my tutorial to make your own! Success guaranteed!

Ya, keep combat to the fighters. People gain ability through days and days of practice, we don't want a ton of noob imitators who are 75% as good as the actual fighters hovering around, interfering in team battles.
Shiri2005-04-25 16:13:14
...sure we do.

But it's hard to do that anyway. Combat isn't actually something you can really teach like that. (I suppose you can give them trigger lines and hope they know how to do it. Hm.)
Amaru2005-04-25 16:52:44
Umm, give someone a system and some credits and they're half as good as a true fighter already. That means two of them could take out one good fighter. I dislike that.
Unknown2005-04-25 17:05:33
I dislike a world where only 5% of the inhabitants know how to fight. Others really want to get into PK, or maybe just defense, but they lack the time or the knowledge of scripting. Besides, the defensive and curing part of a system isn't even half the battle, and you know it. You also need the proper skills, equipment, and offensive strategies. Those are all things that cannot be simply downloaded and installed.

Those last things are what seperates the good from the best. But anyone can, say, swing some swords over and over, and win if there are enough of them.

A good system is useless without the help and guidance of the system's creator. Even then, prior experience still play a major role, especially since combat in Lusternia is not so direct as in Achaea where almost everything can be triggered easily with a client. Not so here. Giving some tips wouldn't hurt anyone, heck it might even help promote some people selling their systems.

I need more uncredited wanna be fighters like me out there, but anyways just practice really. Look at some logs for an idea of what to do with your class then warp it to what fits your skill ranks and race combo.
Unknown2005-04-25 19:16:41
I'll spar with you if you want Torak. I'm also looking for practice.

Thats me, maybe when I gradate again I'll look you up.

The only key in all fighting I've ever had in IRE is to be able to read fast, type fast, and be able to improvise.
Shamarah2005-04-26 00:18:02
You have to think up strategies beforehand, really, but be able to adapt them on the spot.
Ceres2005-04-26 07:47:44
That depends entirely on what class you are.

Some only have one or two viable abilities in any given combat situation.
