Well Magnagora certainly has it down to a fairly accurate point. I think it's a bit silly that any organisation can do that, I don't care if it's Magnagora, the wee wittle Glomgloms, Celest or Serenwilde.
Measuring the discontent is fine, except why are they always discontent between A and B?.

We can get it within a reasonable range if I sit down and estimate a few things for awhile. But I can be wrong, like I was recently but I think thats because of that 25th of Klangiary bug. All the villages were earlier than I thought they would be.
Alger2005-04-25 08:35:05
I dont understand. Why shouldnt we be able to line up our best people for a go at the village? Its not like you guys cant do it... The estimation makes it more strategical and i would rather have that then just relying on chance.
I must admit Daevos' prediction are accurate enough but they're not always right. People are asked to be prepared and being on stand by for rl days isnt really something we like doing.

You can line them up, but you shouldn't be able to predict, even if it is within a matter of days, when the village will revolt.
Alger2005-04-25 09:57:29
why?
Elgar2005-04-25 10:02:20
There are always rats in any grouping of people that are willing to betray. So there enough IC reasons for a city to know when a village wants to revolt.
Unknown2005-04-25 11:10:05
Traitors are fine, but the regularity and predictablity is what annoys me. I like Lusternia to be as 'real' as possible when it comes to politics.
Daevos2005-04-25 20:45:16
I pine for the days when villages revolted only on the turn of the month. I enjoyed organizing teams, and discussing strategy before game time. And I miss being able to do that.
Sylphas2005-04-25 20:47:48
Make it more random, maybe, or just have the politics board get a post a day before they revolt, telling people about rumours of discontent? That way, we all get to strategize, and Magnagora will win if they're better at planning and influencing, not at guessing when it will revolt.

There is NOTHING that prevents every person in the realms from guessing like we do. NOTHING. Why take that away just because everyone else is too lazy to bother?

I'm not in the "circle" of the behemoths of Magnagora, so I won't know the answer but here is my question:
Have you guys always predicted when the villages will revolt?
This time, even I was able to guess that "Oh Stewartsville is probably going to revolt next." And it did. Have you guys always predicted when villages will revolt, before the Kethuru event?
When it does revolt though, I don't really see organization (Over CT atleast anyway)... Daevos always gets there first, and says over CT "To me now." and we scramble to defend the village.
That's about all I see. Ocassionally we'll have a person say "To me" or "Need chanter." Are you using a different form of communication, or does everyone have their pre-determined role already?

Most planning and tactical discussion goes on in the Legion.

yeah the way it is now is like "omg! the people who plan and organize better than the rest will get the village! how absurd!"

No, the way it is now, the people who bother to sit down and do some arbitrary maths will get a heads up. Yes, that is absurd.
Grow up.
Silvanus2005-04-25 23:45:02
Not exactly, because it still revolts randomly during a day, and you can't pinpoint it to the exact hour it'll revolt.
Look at the Delport (before Viravain) where I had the super demesne. We had wiated around 28 hours for it to revolt, thinking it'd revolt any minute during those whole 28 hours.

I know it is not precise, I understand that you guys throw a hell of a lot of effort into getting ready for a revolt and that sometimes it is a lot of stting around twiddling thumbs knowing it will happen fairly soon but not being positive.
Still, I think it is totally unrealistice for a village to revolt to a calcuable and fairly steady timetable. I want it to be more random, for it not to happen at roughly the same time intervals. I know that governing type, questing, etc all influence the situation, but obviously not enough or Daevos would not be able to run a few numbers and make a few educated guesses.
