Back to Common Grounds.

Actually, I like the idea of Doves for Celest, Crows for Glomdoring, Owls for Serenwilde, Bats for Magnagora.

Glomdoring should have the bats, because... well, there's bats in Glomdoring.  Seagulls for Celest seems right.  Maybe Magnagora could have an undead bird of some sort.  Though you could always contrast doves with hawks.

Undead swallows?
Sylphas2005-04-26 02:41:52
Falcons, maybe? Hawks tend to live in forests.
Silvanus2005-04-26 02:42:09
Vultures, we catch them from the Blasted Land.

turtles for celest... and it takes like a day for it to move 1 room

Turtles aren't slow. Tortoises are slow. If turtles have a reason to, those things can MOVE. biggrin.gif

I like bats for Magnagora, but maybe something more marine for celest, albatros or something like that. But they're big birds, so they could end up eating the faeling receiving the letter.
And Glomdoring needs spiders. Spiders with wings tongue.gif

What about those little parachute spiders which spin a web that catches the wind and floats away? Cuuuute.
Shiri2005-04-26 22:52:53
They are not CUTE, they are ANNOYING.

They jump off windows and attack you when you're in the english room next to the library. angry.gif

Mag - Bats (they even have the belltower to shoo them out of! Bats in the Bellfrey!!1)

Celest - Seagulls (They can drop the letters on your head!)

Serenwilde - Owls (who gives a hoot what Seren uses anyway?)

Glomdoring - Crows (they do everything else cool!)

Halifax - Carrier Pidgeons (Its the most logical choice)

Guadiagh - Vulture (its near the desert those scavengers)

Hawks for Ackleberry, if it ever comes out!

Butterflies for ackleberry!!
Gwylifar2005-04-27 16:02:44
I personally think the flying squirrels would be ideal for Ackleberry.
Amaru2005-04-27 16:06:26
Ackleberry should never exist. We have enough snuggler minorities in existing cities.
Iridiel2005-04-27 16:10:34
Hopefully all the snugglers would feel at home in ackleberry, more at home there than in celest, and they would leave.

Some history on this... Achaea actually has code to send mail via owls if it comes from Oakstone. Except that they never turned it on for whatever reason.

Did you just mean the druids? Cause Oakstone doesn't really even have a headquarters, let alone a post office...

I really like the idea of all the cities/communes having different delivery methods though. biggrin.gif
Bricriu2005-04-28 23:45:18
NICE! I just saw the skeletal bat from Magnagora, and we're testing the other ones now, too! Woot!
Bricriu2005-04-28 23:47:23
Spotted the Celestian seagull, too!

I meant that something was coded to support this in Achaea, but never finished. All Achaea needs to do is add post office in Oakstone and they would have the same owls. And based on the style of code, I suspect it was coded when Oakstone was coded, to give you an idea how old it is.
