As Gwylifar said, this is a small improvement(?) but it only makes Ur'guard and Paladin BMs stronger. I'd rather it were left alone. Who wants to waste herb balance in order to clot for 50-100? I'll end up clotting more and gulping mana while Daevos hacks me in two with his 1000 per strike swords.
Murphy2005-04-26 03:24:38
maybe malicia also had a kingdom (clotting) enchantment?
and I can see good blademasters who know how to fight sapping mana with manta whoring plus rendwhoring, till you are in aposition where you can't cure paralysis, and can't stand therefore can't parry, and they impale rend whore you, 2k bleeding, no mana to clot or focus, then you are pretty much over.

Yeah, I had kingdom up. Forgot to mention it. So chervil clots for about the same. I'll test it to be sure, undeffed.
Shiri2005-04-26 03:45:22
With no clotting defs, clot healed 20 bleeding, while chervil healed 40.

This is entirely possible. I am a cheap bastard so before I did not buy any chervil and used clot alone, that is until Rend was put in and Terenas bled me for over 1k each tick. My mana ran out, lost surge, couldn't cure paralysis, and bled to death. Then I got some chervil and Rend was no longer a problem.
The change is good because bleeding actually means something now.

But with the ability to pinleg both legs, and double wrend for 1000 bleeding, it might mean a little to much. Clot is 60 mana no? And it clots 20 bleeding per?
Uhhh... 3000 mana cost to clot 1000 bleeding? Umm.. right.
Not to mention they can repeat this over and over. And people were calling it too mana intensive to have focus spirit cost 2250 mana for an 8 power ability.
Murphy2005-04-26 04:46:09
are you positive double rend gives 1k bleeding? i'm pretty sure it stacks from about 200 a rend.
And not only that, it will be motivation to keep your damn legs and gut healed to avoid impale and rend-whoring, there isn't enough motivation to keep your wounds healed at the moment.

I usually get around 500 bleeding per wrend, maybe 400 at the minimum.
And you can't exactly heal your legs when you are dealing with 1600+ combos to your actual health, and about 30-40 wounds damage per combo.
Murphy2005-04-26 04:55:07
then maybe you should learn to use parry stances rebounding and wound healing....if I can manage then so can you...
Both you and narsrim don't use parry or stances effectively, you both pretty much parry head 100, stance lower and then complain about knights.

Unknown2005-04-26 05:01:52
We've already established the fact that Knights do almost NO damage to each other. It is very simple to heal as a Knight against a Knight. It's sort of the equivalent of Alger pricking me with his rapiers, where I don't have to ever sip health, sparkleberry covers it, and I can just apply health.

Yeah parry head 100 is so boring. I cant remember when was the last time I bashed a brain. By the way, Greathelms should not be worn by non-warriors.
Murphy2005-04-26 05:06:55
then maybe i should put up a log of me vs lazul, he was doing about 1600 - 2k a combo to me, and daevos does a lot of damage as well. elemental knights cause other knights trouble damage wise, so if I can handle it vs daevos or lazul who both hit hard, but i parry and stance and otherwise hinder them to keep deepwounds.
Fix up your parrying and stancing and rebounding, and then come back and tell me that they are overpowered.

Clotting doesn't drain my mana at all. Hurray for magicrown.

I never said anything about overpowered. I said believing that you can rely on clot to clot 1000 bleeding is ridiculous.
Thorgal2005-04-26 08:20:25
One rend stacks 250 bleeding Tuek..
And if you clot before you actually bleed, instead of after, you can clot away thousands of bleeding without ever getting low mana. You basically don't even need chervil against blademasters at all. In any case, this change is a good first step to help out blademasters.

Is that for a pinleg rend or a gut rend? I believe the gut rend is more bleeding. As well, perhaps it is based off your max health?
Morik2005-04-26 08:59:29
why not please post logs? :-)

I've never understood how this is true. The amount of bleeding you'll bleed next tick is set, before you clot, so you'll still be clotting the same amount.. how will clotting before you get the actuall "You bleed blah" message help at all?

You'll use the same amount of mana, you just won't lose that first tic of health.
