Favorite Alcoholic Drinks

Back to The Real World.

As the wise James Hetfield once said, "BEER GOOD!!!" I have several favourites, but Corona with lemon instead of lime stands out. Nonetheless, I have to add an option here and vote for that one. Real gods drink mead. Especially when mixed with grape or blackberry. That will always top a good beer. The only problem is good mead is hard to come by.

Not for me. I live near an an excellent winery that specialises in mead and non-grape wines.

I keep thinking of Corona as a refresh more than an alcoholic drink. Tastes more of lemon than of beer. I suppose with lima it just tastes like lima juice with burbles. Besides, after drinking two my stomach is so full of gas I cannot drink anything else.
Go Guiness go!

The best mead I ever had I believe was called Bunratti from Ireland. Anyone know an easy way to get ahold of some?

Magic?
Or get it shipped in

"The Crestmont"

Fill a highball glass with ice, add 2 healthy squeezes of fresh lime
juice, 4 dashes of Angostura bitters, and an ounce of Bombay Sapphire
gin. Fill with tonic water. Stir and garnish with a lime wedge, drink
with a straw.

I just invented it, and it's awesome. Worship me.

You invented a ...gin and tonic? blink.gif tongue.gif (Okay, okay, it has bitters in it!)

My favorite is definately beer though. I live about 5 minutes from the New Belgium Brewery, if anyone is familiar with their stuff. 1554 is probably my favorite brew.

It was actually a Southampton (tonic water, lime juice, bitters) when I decided to add an ounce of gin - it DOES have a distinct change of flavor with the bitters and lime in it, than a normal ol' gin and tonic.

So I like VB.

There, I've said it.
Nokraenom2005-05-04 12:43:36
Every gin and tonic I've had has limes in it. Maybe it's just a weird thing in Colorado. dunno.gif

But it does make me want to go to my liquor cabinet at 7 in the morning and make a drink. Hmmm, must be a conspiracy. beak.gif

Bah, start at 7? 7's usually where I have a breather, then start on the spirits

It all depends on what I'm eating/doing.

Nothing can beat the Pizza with Killians Irish Red combination. tongue.gif

If I'm sitting around on lusternia, watching tv, playing xbox, or something else that doesn't involve food...I'm always going to lean for Guiness (possibly the Extra Stout version).

If beer just doesn't sound appetizing, or my goal is to get drunk off my @$$, Rum & Coke is where it's at. None of that Bacardi crap, I only trust the Captain. wub.gif

Heh, Australia Day Long Weekend. 5 days, 3 people, 7 cases of beer.
blink.gif
I was the only one drinking every night, I think i got a total of 20 hours sleep in. Or so.
PS. Did I mention I was bashing?
Nokraenom2005-05-04 13:56:07
Reminds me of my Wednesday night shindigs where we play 100-cup beruit. biggrin.gif

Oh that game, I used to play that.
Then I upgraded to rum pong.
And couldn't drink rum for like, 2 years.
Now that I'm 19, I can drink it happy.gif
(26 shots, 3 days not eating, 2 days not sleeping... but I didn't puke)

A lime wedge in the gin and tonic does not mean the same thing as a couple squirts of lime juice wink.gif The bitters do add something also.

My latest invention, the "Ruby Red"

Highball glass, filled with ice.
1 ounce gin, 1/3rd cup grapefruit juice, 2 tablespoons lime juice.
Fill with Bitter Lemon water, add 1 teaspoon grenadine and 4 dashes bitters.
Stir and enjoy!
