Back to Common Grounds.

Hallifax has to do plenty with crystals. The Institutue of the Matrix -has- to be the Guardians of Hallifax, imo

How long has this thread been asleep?

Wake up thread!!!

That Trill guy is cute. I want his numbah.
Richter2005-08-25 04:08:15
There's a reason it was no longer posted in. There was nothing more to say.
Shiri2005-08-25 04:35:49
Maybe he's a telekineticist randomly waving objects around in the air?

EDIT: The trill that is.
Jitwix2005-08-25 05:51:22
In the nexus' charachter creation sequence the caption for the trill says 'cosmic guardian'. And I thought the trill always had the gemstones around its head...I downloaded the pictures long ago...
Eyod2005-08-25 13:20:44
thats because this thread is very old
Jitwix2005-08-25 13:38:18
Then...why did it show up in 'view new posts'... blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif
Unknown2005-08-25 13:39:41
Someone dug it up from the back pages and posted in it.
Shiri2005-08-25 13:40:41
Look at the post dates. Desdemona's is May 1, and Coconut face's there is on "Today" (August 25).

I don't think the Trill looks that bad, really. Who knows, maybe the crazy-head-rocks are part of some 1337 Aeromancer skill?
Suhnaye2005-08-25 20:08:28
Acctually... Now that I've read that new part of the Elder histories, those stones remind me of the crystal that Trillillial used to view the history of the Elder Circles... Wasn't there something about Xyr setting them up to move in formation or something? And he was kind of the whole inventor of the Hallifax logix thing

Seriously, how long did you have to dig to find this thread?
Vix2005-08-26 00:14:49
What I find funny about these portraits is that they are slightly misleading to newbies. I saw a Glomdoring faeling with this in his/her description: "Surprisingly enough, he/she has antlers sticking out of his/her head."

A faeling walking about Glomdoring with the symbol of the enemy growing from the head?

Nexus character creation indicates that the pictured trill is not a mage...
Jairdan2005-08-26 01:32:55
So Matrix Guardians are going to have spiffy crystals that float around their head instead of a pet?

*pictures it*

Instead of having a demon and getting a bigger demon, you'd get more crystals to invest the pacted powers into? That'd definitely be less over-done than the Guardan = pet thing.
Cwin2005-08-26 02:43:11
I don't know what it says about me, but I didn't notice the crystals or the fae until I saw this post just today. I actualy thought the images were recently changed sad.gif

In any case, the crystals remind me of Achaea/Aetolia's Crystalism skill. Perhaps the imagry is making a comeback (I wouldn't mind: the idea of crystals floating around WAS neat, though I hope they don't work like Vibes).

Eyod2005-08-26 04:15:11
Jairdans take sounds nice.
Unknown2005-08-26 05:01:24
I've actually had a theory for a Hallifax Guardian skillset for a long time. Instead of summoning a 'pet', they summon various floating geometric prisms and attack their opponents by reflecting rays of light through the prisms in different patterns.
Unknown2005-08-26 05:22:54
Mm, or a pet that had certain number of planes (read, sides), or..

Iunno. The circling stones MAY NOT have to do with their MAIN cosmic guardian skill. It could do with their secondary (or even a third) skill.

Actually, that sounds pretty cool, if you adjust it to be a furrikin. What do you do if you are a stag-furrikin, but born in Glomdoring? Bearing your antlers with some shame, I imagine.

Though I always wondered if anyone would take the faeling/butterfly thing that way, given how Viravain was turning things into butterflies in the Cleansing stage and then back into spiders and bats and such on return. Probably most people who've addressed it at all have done so by being a leathery bat-like faeling. But it'd be cool to be a faeling with iridescent butterfly-like wings in Glomdoring and being ashamed of it.
