What people don't realize with autoclass is that it will shift things more to the city, which is necessary for Achaea's war system and this new house system they say is coming up. People will begin to care less about the guild and more about the city.
They also don't realize that it works, because they're ignorant elitists.

Now now, children.
I prefer Lusternia. Unique combat system. The kinks are still getting straightened out. Something has to be done about the Serenguard, but I won't hijack. Heh.
Two reasons why I am utterly disgusted with Achaea- Occies and Mages.
Jesters aren't so bad now. They don't have besot anymore, mwaha.

I agree with Singollo in some sense that this system will do a lot of good for Achaea in eliminating rediculous requirements on top of taking absolute controls of classes away from guilds.
And not everyone is ignorant there, Singollo, the latest number for their poll showed 96 to 92 preferred the new autoclass system. You can't say that not a lot of people aren't for it.

You can say that the predictability of Achaean combat makes it not as fun, but I find the opposite is true of Lusternian.
So much comes down to luck here that you almost don't feel a part of the action. Particularly, I found, as a knight. I'd just activate my beating queue and sit back, for the most part.

That might explain why you're not that great a fighter, Ceres... maybe... just a bit.

Teaching you would be a lost cause, Ceres, and besides, if you haven't learned on your own by now after months of getting smacked around and reading other people's logs and combat advice... then there's really nothing else to do.

I really, really hope you're not serious here.
Murphy2005-04-28 23:10:41
actually I kind of agree with revan, if you are just using a bashing macro then you are doing newbie combat.
Although ceres has a point about knights, there are like 3 or 4 levels of randomness and luck to actually get anything to happen.

I didn't say bashing macro, I said beating queue.
That went something like legs legs legs til knockdown, gut/head, gut/head, gut/head trying to pull bashbrain, repeat.
It wasn't automated to that awesome a degree, really.
I had to press a macro every so often.

It's still substandard tactics. Murphy gives me more variety than that, and that's in my demesne. Then again, Murphy's 50 times the fighter you are anyway
Shiri2005-04-28 23:13:50
If systems were disallowed, Achaean combat would be better, 'cause then you'd actually have a bit more skill involved than system. (This is just a surface interpretation, of course, I fought like three times in Achaea max. )
Lusternian combat seems more interesting by comparison.

Elemental runes != skill, though Murphy is fairly decent.
It's the single most practical bonecrusher kill sequence.
Revan, who have you killed recently?
Revan2005-04-28 23:19:44
Narsrim

The fact that you only go for Knockdown as a Knight is pretty much why you can't beat anyone.
I've lost to you twice, while every other time you trueheal'd or ran away, and those two times were 1. Because I was wounded and didn't heal and fought you outside my demesne, and 2. When I wasn't deffed up.
You suck at combat, give up. All you have to do is stance lower, parry rleg lleg 25 and head 50, and you can't do anything else, because you don't even try for anything else.

What else is there to try for, dearie?
I can inqusition and have you run away through rubble and your demesne hindering effects, or be screamed at and called an inquisitionwhore if I pull it off successfully.
