Awwh. I just switched over from Achaea to Lusternia, and, while I agree that there is really no active roleplay with the bulk of the people there, and that so many things can be out of wack, it was Achaea that got me into all the IRE games, and in certain places of Achaea, and organizations, you can have a wonderful experience.

Agreed.

Lumping it all together based on limited experience isn't the way to do things.

Achaea is so crappy, yet it's online population at any particular time outnumbers all of the other IRE realms combined by more than 50%. I think their new system is an excellent idea, and I wish that more of their people would come and join in the other IRE games. Right now, the world is so crowded there that the lag can be unbearable.

Yeah, the lag there is really a turnoff now.

I had always been very pro Achaea and anti other IRE games. But when it comes down to it, my reasons for that had nothing to do with the differences in the games.

Achaea:
1. It's where it all started, where I learnt it all
2. I've spent a LOT of money there.
3. I have a lot of existing ties to certain people there. Made heaps of friends.
4. I know so much about the place compared to Lusternia, where I feel like a newbie.

I've reached the point where there is nothing enjoyable left in Achaea for me. I've done basically all I can. There's nothing much left to achieve. I go there now, check messages, read news, say hi to a few people, see if any of my enemies had stopped hiding in their cities, then leave.

Lusternia has a lot to offer for me. There is so much to learn which is going to be a good challenge. Roleplay is a big focal point for me there. And at the moment there is a lot of fierce loyalty to cities and guilds, with raids, different planes, and a deep hatred for other organisations. It makes things a lot of fun.

The things I hate about Lusternia is how every single thing has to be compared to another game.. and if you were somebody in another IRE game, you're bound to be somebody in Lusternia if you just drop a hint. That has so far disgusted me. I hate the idea of people in Lusternia knowing who I am in Achaea. I'm just hoping it doesn't turn into another OOC chatroom with a gaming touch.

Just my thoughts.

I started with Aetolia and loved it. I went to Achaea, saw lots of ooc things, bad RP, it lagged to hell, it was too busy, FAR too many guilds... now all those aren't bad things as such to some, but to me they all served to put me off. My problem with Aetolia though, I couldn't find a single guild that I wanted to be in. Nothing really appealed, and although I had the skills, I didn't have much to do with them.

Lusternia's system just draws me in, despite the appauling RP that is evident (since bad RP shows up more than good RP). There's a few good bits here and there, and when I see the bad stuff, I just try to get as far away from it as possible.

Lusty's doing pretty well... and although we 'need more players', I don't personally like player bases being TOO big... I like a nice balance. I understand that it will only get bigger though, so will have to put up with it wink.gif
