It's not a lack of balance in the long run, it's the thought that a warrior has to say to himself "well, it's alright that I couldn't kill that old rat in one hit, I am after all just a virtuoso. Leave the real smiting to the dual transcendent warriors with particularly shiny weapons. Or the level one mages."

It's not that I don't like the balance in the long run, it's that it's hard to really think of yourself as making a good amount of progress when you start out seeing your colleagues obliterate everything that 50 levels and a good pile of skills later you still may not compare with.

I don't know where you got this information - guardians seem to me able to both kill faster, and tank more astral mobs than me any time I am bashing with them. Dracnari Ur'Guard with 18str and a Nihilist kills things both faster and more of them than I can. As well as being able to bash for longer because they can darkcall link instead of having to try and invent ways to waste their reserves.

...that's weird. Even a Druid outpaces me with bashing. So does Lomdomian (a warrior, tae'dae STR but with L3 balance penalty.) Maybe it's just my low int but it can't be THAT screwed up. :/

Druids arent bad at hunting look at Niara...medicinebag is good for tight situations...

I can moonburst at night with Surge up since I have Mercy, Drawdown, and Moon Totem. Level 3 mana regen.

Swordplay was an ability they introduced in Achaea at lower Chivalry that boosted damage/to hit/speed when using shortswords so newbies can bash better. I'm going to suggest something to that effect but only applies to mobs and non-master weapons.

What if you don't use shortswords? I use flails.

Non-master weapons would include well, all non-master weapons.
