More talk about all this 'cause I'm pretty looking forward to getting it now. Looks > then WoW. I've read 20 or so reviews and I've only seen one under 90% biggrin.gif

Branwyn!

I put Branwyn Deathwyrm in my friends list and it told me that there was no such person

Hmm....try Charitie Deathwyrm, or Askah Deathwyrm, or Salkiri Deathwyrm

How many hours would you say it takes to get all the skills unliked in two professions?

Also, once you delete a charachter are the skills you unlocked with that char no longer unlocked?
Unknown2005-05-17 02:50:10
Okay well I got the game and it's great and all but... I have to share accounts with my brother! :S I tried to make another one but I need another access key... is there some special exception for this kind of situation... or will I have to buy an online account >.<

You search for skill trainers around the world, or you can do quests to learn them as well.

The skills and items you unlock with a char remained unlocked with the account, even after the char is deleted.

I thought about getting it, then realised Ragnarok is as good if not better and it's FREE. (Shameless advertisement)

I don't even play Ragnarok anymore. But it's a mad fun MMORPG that's free and appeals to your anime...stuff. The graphics are like the things in my avatar. Send me a PM if you wanna know how to get set up (it's complicated).
Terenas2005-05-17 05:04:01
I thought Ragnarok has a monthly subscription fee.
Unknown2005-05-17 05:05:09
There are free servers around for Ragnarok, but it's a pretty boring game anyway, in my opinion.
Daganev2005-05-17 06:47:51
What I like about Guild Wars in concept, is that you need actual skill to get top rankings in the combat, just like in IRE, and they don't really force you into any track
Daganev2005-05-17 06:48:33
After reading the stuff, does anyone think a Warrior/Ranger would work for having heavy armor, and like armor piercing arrows?

Yes.

I have a warrior/ranger, though it isn't popular combination. Everyone and their grandma use warrior/monks because of the tanking. But warrior/ranger is more fun in my opinion. They are good for solo, and if used properly, effective in groups.
Unknown2005-05-17 07:59:50
As long as you don't make another W/Mo, I'm happy. That combo is so overly strong it is ridiculous and just way too common.
Shamarah2005-05-17 10:19:21
Nearly any combination can be good if you play it right, really...
Daganev2005-05-17 10:25:49
The thought of armor piercing arrows is very compelling I think.

The W/Mo is just very easy to play then, I guess.

If both you and your bro live in the same house/won't play the game at the same time, just act like if both of you were the same person - one account, etc. I doubt they'll hunt you down for that, their rule of "one guy - one account" is simply there to avoid exploits.
It worked in WoW, which I play (not much), so it should work in GW.

Right, and the thing has a subscription fee or not? Kinda confused here, each person says different things.
Shamarah2005-05-17 11:12:03
No, it does not have a subscription fee.
Unknown2005-05-17 11:19:29
How are they going to have an income from the game then? I've heard that they're going to put in lots of expansions, but if you don't buy them your char would still be playable - albeit very sucky, when compared to others.
Right, and what's the RP level when compared to other MMORPGs?
Unknown2005-05-17 12:05:18
I guess they have to pretty much trust the playerbase to buy the expansions (or chapters as they call them) when the come out. Maybe they have some sponsership thing going too.

So far the public RP I've seen is just like other games. First time logging in and I see a group of naked people dancing together and trying to make sexual innuendos.

=D

However, when you leave the cities and enter the 'wilderness', you get your own private world so there are no other people around, unless you form a party.
Unknown2005-05-17 15:35:20
I've found my necro/ranger to be a VERY tight combo for hunting solo...she rocks. And my warrior/necro is a nice one for a party *Grin*

And, for those interested, we've got a few of ours guilded together (including Fain *glee*) in House Deathwyrm (I'm an officer). Poke one of my characters if you wanna be part of the little lustyfamily there LOL.
