Proof Stacking

Sorry, I have a hard enough time finding out from tailors what I can get. I went years without proofs because no one told me cloaks could be proofed until I found out OOC, even though I asked. I have no idea what everyone else gets to wear and what the limits on it are.

Frankly I'm thinking of having three cloaks and switching between them depending on who or what I'm fighting. If I decide to stick around I might just do that. Of course I'm waiting two weeks now for a cloak Jairdan will have ready for me in a "a few days", so it's doubly moot.

Just go Dwarf, get a Lightning Cloak, then you'd have level 1 resistance to -everything- and Level to against Magic and Poison? Well besides Asphyxiation, but the only attack with that is Nightkiss, where you just need breathing.

Muhaha!

With my greatrobes enchanted and "proofed" against lightning, I take 664 damage per swing instead of 800 from Murphy.

Fear me.

My greatrobes are echanted and protected 'gainst Magic and Lightning, cause you know, Magic is the stem of all evil! Or as wel like to call it Celest. happy.gif But yeah, you can never have enough protection.

And you can also have the magic skill and proofed panties..uhm, well, greatrobes I mean.

Proofs work.

Proofs do not stack(of the same type).

There is a cap on how much resistance you can have, no 100% immune to one damage source.

The Hartstone demesne has a lightning damage attack. With an electricity proofed set of great robes, I tested it with Munsia. With or without the robes, there was no change in the damage dealt. Why is this?

You mean this pathetic lightning attack?

A bolt of whitest lightning streaks down from the heavens and engulfs you. You
writhe and shake in noiseless agony as the pure electricity ripples over your
body.

Note I'm a Merian with level 2 lightning weakness. laugh.gif
Narsrim2005-05-02 16:48:05
Yes, however, proofs should still reduce the damage... no?

Proofs don't stack? Can I ask what the point of being a transcendent tailor are, given that Splendor robes are barely better (sometimes) than Greatrobes in terms of defense, you can look like royalty without them, and you can get 3 of the four proofs without them? A Transcendent skill that, when all is said and done, gets you a single proofing?
