Yeah, sorry Elryn. :/ I agree with you, but, game mechanics. Meh.

We Taurians need help.
a) Completely remove enrage (it is too much work to use), and give us 1 additional strength OR make enrage allow us to regain balance faster.
Add a "Stampede" skill, like trample but a lot less effective, which doesn't require prone and is more effective the more Taurians are in the group
c) Balance loss isn't so bad
d) Work out Magic Susceptibility and Regeneration to level 2's, or undo them completely
e) Give a level 2 slower EQ. We are big and slow (in the sense of mental capacity).
f) Some extra Charisma and Constitution are always welcome considering that our race has become individual-oriented and each taurian must be able to weather life on his/her own.
Just my thoughts...

Either remove completely or lower dramatically the xp penalty to Tae'dae. Lvl 3 penalty is brutal after level 50
EDIT: Oh and Shiri, i'm fairly sure Furrikin are gonna get the specialisations in Ackleberry. Sure, it might take some time for Ackleberry to come out but still!

I hope Ackleberry doesn't come out at all.
Maybe the Furrikin's retarded stats are indications that it will though.
But I don't want it to! Blah. I LIKE Serenwilde.

Don't do anything to Trae'dae or Taurian?
Thorgal2005-05-04 16:26:06
Tae'dae should get lvl3 health regen..their disadvantages are so crippling it can justify almost any upgrade.
And the furballs really need their lvl1 faster equilibrium.

Alyssandra informed me they did have level 3 health regen back during closed beta, they found it was too powerful so they took it away.

NOOOOO!!
Shiri2005-05-04 17:55:28
Yep, it's true.
And...yes. I want my L1 faster eq. If I don't get it though, I guess Ackleberry is coming out, it's a pretty good justification for a race this bad. X_x

a)Enrage wouldn't be that bad if it actually hit harder when alone, didn't delay too much to activate/have it in effect, laster longer, and every hit by enrage for the balance recovery to be faster... or something. Because you simply aren't able to hit while enraged while out of balance.
b ) Yes, a stampede skill would be wonderful.
c)I agree, balance loss isn't that bad.
d)I barely notice my racial health regen to even count it, it would be great if we had lv. 2 regen instead. And being even weaker to Magic (lv.2) could be tolerable.
e)Don't agree at all, we are less prone to think about things, and probably more quick to action (part of our very aggressive behavior). In fact, if we take this into account... hey, maybe we should even be faster...with lightning quick action influenced by the tiniest of stimulus. Or if Taurians were to have a level 2 eq loss, then we should have something alone the lines of protection of bulk level 1-2, taking into account our colossal physique.
f)I believe Taurians have been largely been forced to live/work and function as individuals more than as a group, due to the possibility of the Taurian group being "subjugated" by the other races in an attempt to keep the Taurians more seperate to one another, in an effort to make the group much less volatile. This is demonstrated, imo, in the Taurian help file where it hints that Taurians "thrived" as employed individual mercenaries. Also, to my knowledge, there has only been two accounts where the Taurians assembled as a unit: Stampede Massacre and during the Taint Wars. The presence of the Matriach, imo, is perhaps proof of the existance of a core cadre able to operate and keep a bond with the Taurians that manage to irradicate throughout the Basin, during their employment as mercenaries. A higher cont would be a boon, of course, higher charisma is unjustifiable, seeing how Taurians should probably be of the most marginalized, more feared, less underestanded groups of the Basin. Especially taking into account the racial pride, that has become taken into account to those that enrage: Taurians superior, lashing out at the "inferior" races. If all Taurians have currently been "forced" to survive individually more than ever, it's thanks to us not seeking each other out. Still, this wouldn't remove the theoretical danger that a group of assembled Taurians would present, nor that the Taurians have in fact always been capable to operate as singles. Perhaps us Taurians should engage on effort of creating tighter group bonds, if we wish to play the role of a mercenary unit/tribe/herd or whatever.
Anyway, to your suggestion, I would also add g)Give Taurians more strength and less charisma. We are a race known for our aggression, and our bulky bodies should be great catalyst of force. Or, I would go with Silvanus' suggestions in the first page of this thread.
A bit of light into the place or origins of the Taurians would also be nice. Also, perhaps even as to what motivation caused the Taurians to become quite the nomadic tribe.

... level two? One maybe?
That must've been some time... 250 plate, level 3 regen, still no proofs...
Shiri2005-05-05 01:24:27
The proofs didn't matter because there weren't elementrunes at that point.

I'm going to speak from experience here and say that it is the Moondancer class that makes Tuek/Narsrim as tanky as they are.
I am less tanky with just fieldplate+drawdown than I was with greatrobes+barkskin+drawdown.
Either greatrobes need to be looked at, or barkskin does if you want to give Moondancers better offensive capability.

Barkskin was nerfed back in the early days, when they nerfed most all physical resistances. There is no way you could be tankier with greatrobes/barkskin/drawdown rather then fieldplate/drawdown (don't forget surge, boosted regen, weathering, and so on and so on).
Singollo2005-05-06 01:34:00
I don't have surge, even without the extra constitution point as a Moondancer, I was still tankier over time. I did however forget to mention Mother, which is basically a form of regen and maiden which gives toughness.
We're not going to include sacrifice skills like Surge and regen.

Don't you dare get greatrobes nerfed. I'm fragile enough as it is.

regen is the most worthless skill there is.
It absolutley sucks, and its like a slow ticking version of transmute, in bashing or combat.

No, leprechaun is the most worthless skill there is.
If it attacks someone, it steals 25 gold from their inventory every 8 seconds. (Inventory, not pack.)
I'm sure there's another couple of qualifiers, but I count that as the worst one.
