There's BOW and CURTSY emotes in Lusternia. This is all swell.

So what's my problem?

Only males can BOW. If they try to CURTSY, they BOW anyway. Vice versa with females. It's not in-character for Ellara to curtsy. She's a warrior and bowing is a form of respect. Curtsying is for prim ladies, from her viewpoint. She has to curtsy to Brennan in Glomdoring as a sign of respect, to get an item for a certain quest, and it isn't very in-character for her and she dislikes it.

It bugs me. Please change it so the BOW and CURTSY emotes are open to either gender.

I agree...

In Imperian you can do both, I think.

If you get a girl in full field armour, how the heck do you curtsey?

And why shouldn't Acrune in his Kilt curtsey anyways?

*thumps* I could custom emote it if I wanted to, which I don't. Shhh. tongue.gif

Heh, least he doesn't snort... Right? Right!?
Raezon2005-05-10 13:11:46
Ultimately it's just a quirk... if you want to bow, simply setalias bow emote bows, their body inclining to a respecful level.

Yadda yadda...
Shoshana2005-05-10 13:23:15
You can't use an alias to bow to Brennan... And it's just convinience. Emotes take up balance, and are a pain when you have a long title. There's no reason to keep it how it is, really.
Unknown2005-05-10 13:46:16
I'm with Raezon on this one. It's simple enough to alias the emote command (that's what it's there for). Personally I'd rather have the coders working on the knight changes and other major updates than spending their time on a trivial detail we users can take care of ourselves.
Acrune2005-05-10 13:54:16
How long could it take to make an emote? Sometimes you just dont feel like working on important stuff, and you feel the need to do the smaller, less brain-using things. Make more emotes then tongue.gif

Meh, the one time I wanted to curtsey because I was being insane, I ended up bowing. *mutter*
Amaru2005-05-12 16:57:00
wacko.gif

Only here would men want to curtsey.

I can see why women might want to bow, martial tradition and such.
Soll2005-05-12 17:15:23
dots.gif I wouldn't normall curtsey. Part of me being insane and dumb for a bit. (Don't make a smart comment.)
Sylphas2005-05-13 01:24:58
Curtseying is easier. unsure.gif
Nayl2005-05-13 03:41:15
#alias curtsey {#if (%1=%null) {emote performs a graceful curtsey.} {emote curtsey's gracefully before %1}}
#alias bow {#if (%1=%null) {emote flourishes their arm, before bowing deeply} {emote bows respectfully to %1}}

Ta-Da
Shiri2005-05-13 03:42:11
But it looks silly because of your title! ninja.gif
Elryn2005-05-13 03:53:03
I think if a Faeling tries to bow they should take damage and become prone.

ex- bow
You lean forward as you attempt to bow in the air, but the precarious angle of your wings throws you into a freewheeling dive sending you crashing painfully to the ground below.

I'm guilty of doing it, but seriously, can you imagine a flying person trying to bow? giggle.gif

Anyway, back on topic, remember freeform emotes can't be targetted. So they aren't very useful if you're trying to bow/curtsey TO someone.
Nayl2005-05-13 04:12:23
Sure they are, for the betterment of the room, because putting you in is silly unless it's just two people.
Elryn2005-05-13 04:13:30
And if its just two people?
Nayl2005-05-13 04:26:42
Manual? Or do bow you
Cheat.
It's easier
