Chade is an excellent behind the scene politician, and the commune will do very well to have him....
and he's a damn sight better than gregori who sits on his ass and just lets the fighters lead the city cause he doesn't have the marbles to take a stand

I think it only fair to point out how much grief people were giving Visaeris when he came back and just tried to get involved right away. Oh, and actually did stuff. Chade shows up out of nowhere, stands around for a few days, and is appointed Marshall with zero explanation or RP backing that I've heard yet...and everyone has nothing but well wishes? Mmph...
Unknown2005-05-03 06:16:57
In all honesty, Rhysus is right. Before Glomdoring came out, there was an attempt to get everyone re-organized after Erions little fumble bumble. Chade was on of the four who was supposed to be helping reform everyone so that it wasnt as chaotic as it turned out to be. That clan did absolutely squat, as two of its members just werent around for a few days and then when they were around made no attempt to correct the problem. Few days later, Glomdoring arrives and before long, here we are with a leader that a lot of people just dont understand. Im well aware he's a favorite of certain Divine... but seriously, for a commune who doesn't want to become mini-magnagora and whos lead by a Goddess who, two weeks ago, hated the cities, Magnagora especialy... We're off to a very bad start aren't we?

You guys don't know chade very well then, like I said hes an excellent politician and everyone loves him...
Unknown2005-05-03 06:34:09
I know chade pretty well. Dont forget once upon a time I was a Magnagoran too, and not just an average one. Hes a great politician, yes, but is he the right one for Glomdoring?

That's not the point. I've known Chade for five years, pretty much since I first came to IRE I've known him. I know he's a leader, I know he's a politician, I know he's lovable. The point is that he can be all those things and more and it doesn't mean jack if there isn't some good rationale behind why he is in that position. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense, other than what people are realizing is either some OOC favoritism or an ugly attempt to force proven leaders into a mold role to get the Commune on its feet faster.
Daganev2005-05-03 06:39:14
Lets imagine the following. Chade as emporer of Magnagora meets people from Serenwilde while he makes dealings with Nikua, one of those dealings happens to be Gwynever. From GWyenever, Chade grows a desire for gloriana, but can not show it to the rest of the city.
Now imagine, to help gywnever, Chade gives JAsper gold to buy the summer court, and so when the time is right, Chade does other stuff like what Nepthysia was saying about having a clan to control and reduce chaos, but was infact acting as a front for jasper and Gwyn. Now, when the time is right, Chade suddenly pops up and become Dark Marshal so that no suspicioun is brough to Jasper or Gwyn so they can continue thier own frienships with various people and chade can keep his friendships in Magnagora.
Where along the lines would you expect to 'see' any roleplay?
I'm not implying anything like that happened, but just trying to show you how its possible for things to happy that you do not witness.

I think they should have appointed Visaeris or someone to lead Glomdoring. In all honesty, the appointment of leadership was handled badly - the current leaders could be drastically improved upon.
EDIT: Changed my mind about Erion.

thats right dag, just people people dont shout about it and carry on like erion and visaeris, doesn't mean there aren't things going on
Unknown2005-05-03 06:48:50
nobody likes it when they see someone whos outwardly dont absolutely d%*k for a city or commune to just pop up and go hey im your new marshall, lets play a game of simon says. Im simon.
I mean.. if Fain just went on a huge replacement spree in magnagora and appointed Nikua as your new emperor youd all turn around and go WTF?? Comprende?
Its not exactly the same thing but its a good enough illustration. For a while youd sorta have to deal with it 'Cause Fain says so' huh?

That's all plausable, you're right, but if some background roleplay was going on, how did he get recognised and given the public position he now has?
Daganev2005-05-03 06:54:03
I must admit, there are some long time people who I wish would get more reocgnition, but they havn't done enough stuff -recently- to get noticed... its a shame but thats how life works sometimes.

Gwyn and Jasper were the first two people appointed in Glomdoring no?
Chade had to tie up some loos ends and make it look like a nice surprise so no suspicioun would be brought to his past dealings?
Theres always a conspiracy theory for everything.

Eh. I'm more obliged to believe that it's just a cop out. Bringing Chade in just doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Even if there were dealings going on to make it possible, it doesn't even fit in with Viravain's RP, and ultimately she did have to cede the seat, so at that point if nothing else the theory breaks down.
Daganev2005-05-03 07:14:43
A cop out? Its a made up conspiracy theory on the spot, that is just showing that you don't know what all the roleplay is with every charachter.
Rhysus2005-05-03 07:16:23
Right...it's a cop out explanation, made up on the spot. *g* It's saying "Because you don't -know- it didn't happen, it's a good enough explanation for why it could have!"
Daganev2005-05-03 07:22:36
I guess its bad roleplay for a leftist orginization to support a bill that makes abortion for some people illegal right?
*refrence to crackpot legistlation that actually happened here*

I like Chade a lot, and I feel he's a good leader. I still don't like him as leader of Glomdoring since he's done nothing for it, and he just doesn't feel right for the job.
Kaervas2005-05-03 08:39:59
Finally you people have a decent leader.
Thorgal2005-05-03 08:47:42
Man that is so hilarious...
When there's people that NEVER done anything for Glomdoring, that have NO clue about leading, that can't even make decisions without asking their divine, that stated themself how they love their commune's archenemy, won't do anything to harm it, even if that inaction will severely harm their own commune...that come from serenwilde...get chosen as leaders, everyone goes: Oooooh they'll do a fine job! That was a good choice, good job everyone! They'll do fine!
Now when there's a leader chosen, who worked his ass off for Glomdoring in the early days, who has PROVEN he's an excellent leader, who can make decisions on his own and take responsibility for it, but he's from MAGNAGORA, everyone goes: Not fair! That's the most crappy choice ever! It's all over now! Wail! Moan! Whine! Bitch!
See the picture? This is why I hate treehuggers and pacifists.
BLOODY BUNCH OF BIASED HYPOCRITS!
