Hey, i'm all for Chade, i think he'll be a damn fine leader, i have no proplem with him, then again originally i hail from Magnagora, under both Chade and Daevos' rule.
Right now i dont really care what the commune does, i want the spiggin GA's, Champs and Envoys to be appointed so we can have some decent guild structure.. though with the current people in the Shadowdancers that might take a while... maybe even a genocide or two.![laugh.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif)

Oh no, he's a damn good leader and Elaria'll follow him, I'm just unhappy with the choice. On the other hand though I don't think there was a better choice anywhere else in the commune.
Annelia2005-05-03 09:18:58
I'm all for Chade. Anyway for the RP behind it, if could of been anything from Viravain hearing about his leadership quailities and bribed him into Glomdoring. Viravain isn't dumb, no matter how insane ![tongue.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif)
Since my character I took there is from Magnagora as well she'll be quite used to it.

Now when there's a leader chosen, who worked his ass off for Glomdoring in the early days, who has PROVEN he's an excellent leader, who can make decisions on his own and take responsibility for it, but he's from MAGNAGORA, everyone goes: Not fair! That's the most crappy choice ever! It's all over now! Wail! Moan! Whine! Bitch!
See the picture? This is why I hate treehuggers and pacifists.
BLOODY BUNCH OF BIASED HYPOCRITS!

I think Chade is a good choice I am just uncertain on the justification for it that's all. Calm down dear, calm down. *gives Thorgal a hug*.

At least now maybe bloody Viravain can be replaced as patron

What's wrong with Viravain? I think she's done great. She's playing a role, and sticking to it. Just because you don't like the role, doesn't mean she is performing poorly. She is acting the part very well.
Kaervas2005-05-03 11:39:03
I don't remember saying she was performing badly...
Erion2005-05-03 11:49:56
Sigh. You people with this mess "Omg he didn't do anythings for teh glomdoring, why shouldn't he get marshall lolz"... Don't base it on merit as to effort. People like Visaeris, Erion, Yuniko and Yukari, Richter........guido......have been involved way longer, and tried much harder than... Gwynevere, Lyth, Xenthos, Daganev, Moralis, Nayl, Jasper, Bau..
Wait, did I just name the entire Glomdoring leadership, minus Chade? Yep. And how many of the leadership do I think are capable?
Three. I'm GLAD Chade got it. I've been rooting for it for a LONG time, since he came out of retirement. Maybe he'll actually let us get on the bloody Eth.

I agree with Gregori!
To be honest, had Visaeris gotten the position, Glomdoring would have been better off in the future. In spite of all of the bad things one could say about him, Visaeris was the original leader of DoC and one of the most determined and dedicated loyals to the cause. Chade's just going to form an alliance with Mag. Would anyone be surprised? Too many pro-Mags in Glomdoring to begin with. I could safely say that at least, Visaeris isn't pro-Mag. He's pro-Glomdoring/himself.
This is all of the more reason for the Celestians to drop their anti-Seren sentiments, mmhmm.

Iridiel2005-05-03 12:44:23
Well, half of glomdoring leadership is ex-Serenwilder, maybe a Glom/Seren alliance? I think Chade will have the brain to keep things working until the commune stablishes itself. Visaeris and Erion are just too conflictive (not to say, I OOC disagree with giving positions of power to people who cheated to get the information, but that's another thread) and would get Glom into a war without having the means to win it. If only because people would be most happy to go to war against Visaeris.
Malicia2005-05-03 12:52:50
I'm not so sure that Visaeris would lead them to war right off. They need to focus on establishing themselves.
What are you talking about Bricriu?
Oh well. I just want to see how it turns out. I don't want an alliance with Glomdoring.

Xenthos2005-05-03 13:00:23
Um... Visaeris has already been TRYING to lead us to war, even without a leadership position. ![blink.gif](style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif)

Asarnil2005-05-03 13:04:23
Malicia, stop talking garbage. Oh yes, Chade is an ex-Mag, he MUST want to make his city Mag's lapdog. The whiners in this thread sound even more
than the ones in the anti-Haja threads.
As it stands, Chade is probably the ONLY person in that commune besides Arilyon who could carve out a strong self-sufficient independant organisation from things as they are. Do you know how I know that? I have seen both of them do it over years.
And who cares if they DO make a treaty with Mag, or for Snugglewilde or Celest for that matter. Lusternia has POLITICS where things like that actually DO happen. And with the exception of the Seren-Celest butt-hugging fest thats still surviving, no inter-city politics in this game last for any extended period of time.
I suggest you all shut the hell up, cease your incessant whining for a god damned week or two, and let Chade get on and do his job.

I only agree with one thing in your post. Stop the whining. I really don't care who leads Glomdoring. I always said that it wouldn't turn out as anyone expected. It's funny. I haven't said one bad thing about Chade either. Once Glom realizes that it's tainted, they'll look to Mag for assistance anyhow..oh, damn wait. They still do.
Asarnil2005-05-03 13:13:26
Yes, thats why we said bugger Glom after they were ordered by Viravain to not influence, and there were those posts on the public board withdrawing support for each other. Glom is free from Mag help - individuals might come, but thats because of their own agendas not the cities.
Erion2005-05-03 13:50:55
You're all saying "...once the Glom realizes it's tainted". That will NEEEVVEEERRR happen. A few people know they are, but realize it's futile to say anything. Erion will NEVER deny being tainted, but he'll never admit to it. He'll shrug and dodge the subject. He doesn't view taint as a good or bad thing - he's not like "ZOMG TAINT THE SERENWILDE". Instead, he's convinced the Serenwilde would be fine, if Hart and Moon were killed, and the Moonhart chopped down, and the forest incorperated into the Glomdoring.

I don't know Chade at all. I also don't think his prior affiliation should make a difference, he was picked to be marshall so let him do the job. If he isn't right for it, people will notice and speak up, if he is he'll carry on. Give the man a chance, political views change so often in the basin I don't think it's fair to condem someone without giving them a fair shot in the first place.
Give him the ball and see what he does. Good Luck Chade
