Damnit, I keep hearing alternating reports on this.

DO YOU OR DO YOU NOT LOSE LESSONS WHEN FORGETTING A SKILL?
Terenas2005-05-04 17:20:06
You lose 20% if you forget regardless. Another 20% if you switch between sibling pools, and a further 30% if you go from sibling to parent pool.
Shiri2005-05-04 17:53:35
Right, so

From Hartstone -> Blacktalon - Forget 20% of Stag, put it into Crow.
From Hartstone -> Shadowdancers - Forget 20% of Stag, put it into Night. Forget 20% of runes, put it into Hexes. Forget 20% of Druidry, put it into Wicca.

That seems like more of a loss to me. -_o Is Visaeris just wrong, or am I missing something?
Erion2005-05-04 19:34:31
Same type of skills. Nature/totems bases. Same element.

I think what Visaeris means is that going from Druid to Wiccan is less than going from Mage to Guardian or Wiccan to Guardian or Druid to Mage.
Erion2005-05-04 20:42:45
Yea. You may lose more from the tertiary skills (Healing/Hexes -> Dreamweaving/runes).
Shiri2005-05-04 20:49:14
...o_-

But they're all in the same pool...?

Aye but when you go From Druid to Wiccan you have to forget Crow/Stag (20% loss), druidry (20%loss) and runes/dreamweaving (20%loss) whereas if you go from mage to guardian you have to forget Illusions (20%loss) Elementalism (20%loss) Aquamancy/Geomancy (20%loss), dreamweaving/runes (20%loss)... you get the point.
Erion2005-05-04 21:12:50
Right. See, Cosmic and Rituals is a different pool than Elementalism and Illusions. Since both Wicca AND Druid use the same BASE skills, they aren't AS bad.
Alger2005-05-04 22:30:35
you know sometimes the more you try not to be something the more you become it.

Heh, you can always recognize a full-blood treehugger or pacifist at his title.
Shiri2005-05-05 00:27:13
Hah. Yeah, they have "High Priest of the Moon" and such in their title, it makes it pretty easy.

As for Soulafein: don't judge people by him. Really.

A Magnagoran is just as easily seen by their title, silly Thorgal. *more hugs*

Only time you don't lose lessons is when you forget _while you are a novice_ (except about 6 lessons on environment). Might be first-time novice only. Never tested.
Marsu2005-05-05 12:25:27
Only as a freshman novice, non-freshman ones still lose the same.
Manjanaia2005-05-05 16:33:14
God I'd have loved to have been made Dark Marshall. I'd outlaw treehugging and illegible 'accents' right away.
Bau2005-05-05 17:18:14
Soulafein scampered before I could remove it. I might be a ditz sometimes, but I'm not that bloody bad.

I didn't really think about the choices for Champion, I just know he intends to apply for it. I'd much rather Arilyon. But in the end, I'm just going to pick out the good applications (personal dislikes being kept out of it) and pass 'em on to Viravain.

Thank you, Erion, it's great to know I'm evil and incompetent. And here I thought we had that worked out. tongue.gif
