okay.. this summer I will be coming back to Lusternia because Achaea is SERIOUSLY pissing me off. Soo, since its been a while, and I have forgotten nearly all of my Lusternian knowledge.. I need YOU to help me out
I have a short list of questions:
1. What, in your opinion, is the best race/class combo for someone who wants to be a decent fighter at the least (I know a lot of it is skill too ) and make a good chunk of gold?
2. I am purchasing 2000 or 3000 credits (I was going to in Achaea.. but its making me mad) so what skills should I trans? Also... I am going to see if I cannot put together a small database of useful information for all to use and access, so if you have some skillsets that you wouldnt mind posting, go ahead! (if you REALLY dont want me to do this just say so )
3. Could anyone list some good bashing areas for level 20-30, 30-50, 50-70, and 70+? (I plan on bashing a lot)
4. Is there a denizen that refills vials if you cant find someone to do it for you? (like Seasone in Achaea)
Well... thats all I can think of off the top of my head. If anyone else has questions while their at it, go ahead and ask (because its prolly something I forgot ). Anyways, thanks all, and when I create my new character I will totally let you all know his name! Glad to be back!

1. Viscanti or Dracnari Ur'Guard
2. Can't post skill lists on the forums, and I can't make recommendations for Ur'Guard, beyond trans Bonecrusher, Necromancy, Combat, Resilience, Magic, up to thirdeye in Discernment, up to Focus Mind in Discipline. Don't get Riding.
3. Ask anyone in the guild. I know the Nihilists have a ghelp scroll about good bashing areas at certain levels, the Ur'Guard might as well.
4. Rowena used to, but no longer.

If you are spending that many credits, you may also want advice on artifacts to purchase since you probably will have some to spend on that. What sort of persona do you want to play? What are your goals and aspirations? RP intent? For example, it's hard to say what is best without knowing that since the best for a righteous avenger of the forest is much different than the best for an aspiring political dictator.

For refills, we have four guilds that can do refills (Moondancers and Hartstone in Serenwilde, and Blacktalon and Shadowdancers in Glomdoring). Our aim is to make the economy as player driven as possible, so the refill NPC was phased out.
For bashing, the astral plane is best when you are high level. I think the new Shallach area is also good for certain levels, though I'm not sure what.
If you want to make lots of gold, every guild has its own tradeskill (like forging, alchemy, and enchanting) or you can choose a common trade skill (like tailoring, jewlry, herbs, or cooking) to make money from. Some are more profitable than others. Anyone able to give some info on how they stack up?

well,
I'd say come back to your old mentor, he was good to you. Join the paladins, Knights of any class bash really good but honestly Ur'guard or paladin bash better then serenguard, i've been all 3 with trans skills so I would know. For everything else...just ask your mentor when you remake and get a new one.

As far as I understand -
Alchemy is in huge demand. People say the market is flooded, but no one can ever get refills when wanted. You could make a lot of money, if your willing to do individual refills.
Herbs - everyone nees them, so although its really boring, you can make nice cash.
Cooking/Tailoring - Only useful if you have a shop. Then can make some good income.
Jewelry - seems ok for money, don't know too much about it.
Enchantment - Pretty bad.
Forging - Horrible.
Poisons - Horrible.
However, if you have poisons or forging, your much more likely to be using them for yourself then selling them, which is also something to consider when choosing the tradeskill.

For the new shallach area you should probably be at LEAST 65, due to guys doing lots of damage, some have random afflictions, etc.

Glomdoring is extremely cool. Faeling Ebonguard is extremely cool. Extremely cool...extremely cool...............extremely.............cool..............................................
Also, forging for a knight..while not profitable is nice and helpful. Forging our own weapons and armor, and reforging since you can smelt. Higher level armor and helms and such, and runes to enhance your weapon and armor stats are very effective.

well, I dont know about joining Celest.. I have been one for the forests, although being part of a city might not be too bad (even though Celest has like, no villages ) I am currently leading towards to Glomdoring, and perhaps the Ebonguard, if they really do bash the best... but you never know, I could end up going Celest (-grin Stagar-)
I am really just thinking Human right now (better XP gain, and no real disadvantages). But feel free to point out the flaws in my logic
Also.. what would you recommend as for skills and artifacts? I have been reviewing the artifacts, and the only real useful one I saw was the magic one (which I wont be needing). So also, how much do shops cost, and do you think they would pay themselves off if I spent the gold to buy one?
.. yeah before I really become TRULY active, I wanna get as much info and preparation I can get so I dont get my butt kicked

Humans' disadvantage is that they have absolutely no advantages. I wouldn't do it.

Jewelry is more for if you enjoy designing it, don't count on it feeding your children or anything. Unless you are planning on spending 500 credits for a silver jeweler's hammer then you can probably make some pretty good gold on selling raw gems. If not, you'll never make it in this business kid.
as for human...xp gain is good but stats are totally sucky IMO
Revan2005-05-03 04:20:29
If you want to be a good fighter, it all depends on your outlook on things. I cannot speak for Glomdoring at all, but I'd say your best bet is to go either Celestine, Geomancer, Ur'Guard or Moondancer. Those are really the most notable PK guilds. Come to the Geomancers and I'll mentor ya and teach you how to fight as a mage Everyone says our demesnes are overpowered.. so I guess there's a reason.
Shiri2005-05-03 04:30:43
As a note, I wouldn't count on class strengths for now come to think of it.
Envoy reports are coming up soon, which means Moondancers, Hartstone and Serenguard (amongst others) are slated for upgrades, as are (possibly) Nihilists and blademasters in general. We'll see.

Hm. Environment? I'd go Discernment instead.
EDIT: Oh, and don't forget Discipline.

Athana2005-05-03 04:44:13
yeah those two before environment
Shiri2005-05-03 04:45:45
And before arts, too.
Get discipline before arts and environment, although tumble in environment is good, but focus mind in discipline is better.
Actually I'd have discipline entirely in place of arts, and then environment up to tumble (the rest is crap) and then the rest in discernment.

what I plan on eventually doing is buying more credits IC with gold.. and to do that I figured I would use herbs and arts.. is arts useful for that???
