If you're intending to make money from herbs, you might as well not take arts. Actually, you don't even need to take herbs since you can bash astral for about the same amount of gold + exp.
Roark2005-05-03 11:16:12
From what I hear from the players, Bonecrusher is usually considered better than Blademaster. So you may want to take that instead. Anyone care to comment?
Iridiel2005-05-03 12:32:44
But blademaster will be improved someday, and then, everybody will complain about bonecrushers... Won't it?
Thorgal2005-05-03 13:38:40
Bonecrusher ur'guard is the way to go..they have an added +2 strength and +2 intelligence on the other warriors, they barely ever lose experience if they're careful due to lichdom, putrefaction + fullplate makes them take pretty much no physical damage at all, they can increase their damage considerably with Omen, and the guild just rocks.

what I plan on eventually doing is buying more credits IC with gold.. and to do that I figured I would use herbs and arts.. is arts useful for that???

roflmao.gif Credit prices in Lusternia are insanely off the wall. You'll be so lucky to find someone to sell at less than 4k per. You might want to pick your trade skill wisely.

I'd have to say that currently Bonecrusher is a much better skill than blademaster, i've even contemplated forgetting blademaster but i'd have to figure out how to use bonecrusher strikes and smites and stuff

Gold is easier to get in Lusternia than other realms due to how much of the economy is player controlled rather than NPC controlled. So higher credit prices are offset by (and indeed caused by) increased availability to gold.

Not to mention astral gold.

i still maintain that bashing astral is the best tradeskill in the game....in terms of fighting class I'd reccomend bonecrusher dracnari ur'guard, and buy some 350 CR elemental runes (either lightning or cold)

forging trade skill is good for fullplate and +10 to each weapon stat with forging runes

also trans all guildskills, trans planar and resilience and combat if you can, as well as discipline.

I'm more than happy to teach you the intricate are of being a bonecrusher (as I'm probably the longest serving bonecrusher fighter) in game, just contact me for a mentor and I'll get ou started with everything you need, I do free forgings for my proteges.
Dan2005-05-03 16:48:04
well.. I am prolly gonna go Human Paladin or the something along the lines of that (the level 2 faster XP is nice, .. I can always reincarnate.. I think) but I would be GLAD to accept combat lessons if you wouldnt mind. And aye, I am buying Great Runes for the 2 masterwork swords I will make. So, should I take forging or herbs or tailoring for my tradeskill?

Bonecrushers are much better due to non-affliction moves like knockdown or gut that can stun or steal away the opponent's offensive capacities. Not to mention the lower end Blademaster afflictions such as cut arteries only cause minimal bleedings (15 to 20 bleeding) and all the higher end afflictions such as severnerve or slicetendon are just simple herb cures. At least Breakwrist has a chance to force people to drop wielded weapons and pulverized legs need regeneration and mending to cure. Not to mention Bashbrain is achievable by strikes as well as swings, whereas Behead can only be done by swings.
Murphy2005-05-03 17:08:55
wrong there terenas, bashbrain is only doable by swings or pulp

Funny, I seem to have recalled that was one of the thing mentioned on your envoy report as a bug that needed fixing. I'll have to go take a look at it again later.

You're thinking of burstorgans.

Meh, I'm not at home so I don't have a copy of Murphy's envoy report, I'll go look it up when I get home.

Suffice to say, Bonecrusher >>> Blademaster. I don't think any knights could disagree with that.
Dan2005-05-03 18:49:18
yeah... I am now gonna go bonecrusher, and get two masterwork maces (shimmering and skulled) then put those great runes on em so they are permanent AND better biggrin.gif Plus I am getting those elemental things to add damage types (electrical and cold) so its all good.

As to forging.. can you only wear fullplate if you make it? Cause if so, then I will take forging, but if you can wear other peoples fullplate, I will just have a masterkwork pullplate forged for me and take herbs. But we shall see smile.gif
