Ok, so, I was just thinking. Titans get a level 3 regen of everything, correct? Well, what happens to those races who already get regens, but have penalties for them?
Lets say, Orclach. Orclach has lvl 2 health regen, and because of it gets lvl 1 slower balance, lvl 1 slower equilibrium, AND slower EXP.. my question is... if an Orclach becomes a titan.. wtf? They basically lose the only advantage they really had, (because all Titans get the regen), but still get stuck with the sucky penalties in response.
I mean, yes, the regen to mana and ego and willpower and endurance is nice, but, their health regen only goes up 1 point, but they still end up having disadvantages for advantages they, in reality, no longer get. (already ignoring the fact that their disadvantages are way disporportiate when compared to say, Loboshigaru)
So.. am I missing something, or are Orclach getting the shaft yet again if they ever reach Titan?

The regen is on the Astral Plane only.
Shiri2005-05-04 19:42:45
Higher planes, isn't it? (Cosms too.)
Unknown2005-05-04 19:42:56
oooh, ok, well, that changes things *kicks the other Titan thread* Thanks for clearing that up (though, on Astral, poor Orclach still get the shaft!)
Shorlen2005-05-04 19:44:28
Most non-city races do, which is by design *shrugs*

I still say Orclach should get a specialization for ur'Guard, I mean come on, they're entire history is based around the damn guild.. there should be SOMETHING special for them.
Richter2005-05-04 19:53:54
I don't see how you lose anything, or are penalized. Anything + something better = something better.
Arundel2005-05-04 21:09:53
Quantum was saying that Orclach have slightly less of an advantage because Titans get regen (albeit only on higher planes), which is the only real Orclach advantage, therefore putting Orclach at a relative disadvantage.
Unknown2005-05-04 21:47:47
Your a ****ing titan. Seriously, does it make *all* that much of a difference?
Unknown2005-05-04 21:53:52
Orclach titan.. Yeah.. Right. hahaha
Niara2005-05-05 00:04:24
No offence but there will be never an orclach titan if the race doesn't receive any serious changes....and they are ugly anyway.
Shiri2005-05-05 00:08:25
Eh, after a point it doesn't matter what race you are, even if you suck for PK you'll manage it.
And you get so much cool crud as a titan it doesn't MATTER for the tiny weeny things like that. X_x

This thread reminds me very much of the Faeling one regarding the new specialization. Hmm.

What you fail to realize is that people who are going devote the time to achieve titan are not the types of people to pick races that blow. Who sets themself up with a huge handicap?

Make Orclach a second specialization in Celest. THEN it will be similar.

I meant in the comparison that Orc now compared to Orc Titan is being seen as lesser, in the same way as Faeling compared to Faeling specialized being seen as lesser, in balance with other races.

Everyone who picked Tae'dae

Aye, but the comparison doesn't hold. Titans are not supposed to be balanced with other races, hence Orclach are not suppressed by being lesser than their titan form (which incidentally is true for all races). Additionally, Orclach titans are not opposed or entirely different to regular Orclach in terms of RP.... any Orclach in the game can become a titan.
In terms of the original complaint, I think it will be fine really. They still gain a level of regeneration, plus all the other great abilities. It is true they won't gain as -much- as some other races, but I'm not sure what else could be done. Going above level 3 regen wouldn't be a good idea. They are still far better than non-titan Orclach.
If it is desperately needed, just add a point of con or something for Orclach titans.

Hush don't get technical Mr Elryn. I just said it reminded me of the thread. Meh.
Elryn2005-05-05 10:46:07
Ok ok, I could see that.
