Imperian had fae? *scratch*

Maybe you're talking about the "Sentinels" haveing different animals for different areas, like an armidillo.. and a yak *wants a yak*.
Shiri2005-05-07 03:52:50
Well, yeah. Like, a shadowbrownie would be basically a spriggan. And a shadowleprechaun would be a boggart. And they have different names and appearances and crud.

I wish I was writing this stuff now. >_> (Don't worry, designers, I probably wouldn't in your shoes, you're doing a great job. biggrin.gif)

I was talking about the idea of making each different and unique. doh.gif

I still don't get what that has to do with Imperian skills then, they all look the same unsure.gif

The sentinels summon creatures at are unique to their environment type or whatever even though most of them do the same thing. I'm suggesting this for Fae too only instead of being based on environment, it would be based upon the association of the Fae to its respective great spirit.

So why didn't you say "Yes, that's what I'm talking about" tongue.gif

I think you didn't say that how you intended. Go edit.

And, um, as Yrael and Elaria just said on the IRC, demonscales (or something), drawdown, and halo should all change your room desc and honours desc. Yeah. biggrin.gif
Daganev2005-06-12 10:39:13
Wouldn't it be cool if your fae changed based on how skilled in the Wicca skill you were?

So like as a newbie you get a Leprechaun, but as a Trans you get a Thieving Nature spirit... or something much better. As well as being different for it your following Moon or Night.

I like that in theory (summon a hypnotic owl spirit instead of a pooka or something), but it would sort of screw up the whole Wiccan thing being to summon Fae. Hmm.

And while we're at it, Jasper and I thought it would be cool if the Fae would stop being lamers. The brownie should spin in circles around someone's head so fast it blurs, and that makes them dizzy (same knock-off-balance effect), the pixie...needs to be de-lameified somehow, the pookas should look entirely differnet (like, kirrhs with ghostfire in ridges on their back, and stop being giggly, be all dispassionate, damnit), leprechauns should just be boggarts in general, and pigwidgeons should be more like kodama or something (frenzy.gif) that just make soil around the opponents feet congeal around their ankles and trip them up. Or, something.

Yeah, I know none of that is going to happen. sad.gif But it would be cool. I hate walking into battle feeling like my opponent gets steam and ice, while I get an army of midgets that tickle people. :/
Daganev2005-06-12 10:47:23
meh, I don't know fae names, so I just came up with something that would make my point. It would be hell on the coders and would be hell on peopel's triggers, but it could still be fun!

I guess you aren't aware that pinto beans are part of the staple diet of the Geomancer guild.

I don't even know what pinto beans are. ninja.gif
Gwylifar2005-06-12 23:41:07
I suppose geomancers don't take the pebbles out when they're loading the bean pot.

Drawdown. Whee. I make a triangle with my hands. What it COULD have been is turned into Moonform, where you get possessed with the moon just like Stag/Crowform, turn silver-skinned, start shining with intense silver light, and so forth. Luckily moonburst makes up for it. (Incidentally, I don't CARE how much symbolism I'm ruining with that one. tongue.gif)

I had that WAY before you did. This was a necro! (Albeit a justifiable one. halo.gif)
Yrael2005-06-13 07:26:46
Still mine. Force it down your envoys throat, damnit, along with all the rest of the stuff discussed on IRC.
