Well, this is probably a big fat long shot, but does anyone here frequent the outdoors much? You know, those activities where you leave your laptop and springbox behind?

I've hiked the long ardous journey across a parking lot before, I was 89 parking spaces away from the bus stop!

I play badminton. I was varsity captain of my highschool team! Though, we played indoors, so I guess it doesn't -technically- count.

I erected a shrine to my goddess about a mile into the woods out the valley from my house. It's a 15 minute hike to get there, and I had to haul rocks the size of my torso around. That count?

oh oh.. and I played Croquet on Mother's day

I climb.

I play tennis regularly, and still enjoy an afternoon at the park with friends, frisbee and barbeque.. does that count?

I goto camp in the summer... anyone know lake winnipasauki (sp)? In New Hampshire? Its amazing.

Heh, the parents have a beach house in Delaware, so I spend time outside on the beach and bike riding and stuff. Especially as they wont get tv or a decent computer down there.

I went for a walk tonight from Bondi beach to Bronte beach and back, that was my outdoors for the week .

Na, I go for a couple short walks every day before and after work.

Hrm, paintball and I want to start climbing sometime soon. I used to bike ride a lot until it got stolen, then I switched to roller blading. I mistakenly walked 15 miles the other day because I thought this place was closer to my house than it was...

Despite my need for my screen-fed games, I love the outdoors. Walking, messing around, whatever... My last job before this one was mostly out in the Australian bush, kind of like a ranger apprenticeship, but less focused on the specific things that would be involved in that, and more diversity in what we did. It was great

Walk when I feel like it, play soccer on the weekends. Just social fixtures for fun, not any real competition attitude - or skill, for that matter *misses the ball*

I walk alot in the woods..hunt , fish, camp , bike so on so forth.

I fish, hike, golf, drink beer, and I'll be putting in a garden soon.

I used to climb every weekend. Stopped after I got caught soloing without ropes and it started to snow when I was halfway up. Scared the beejesus outta me

That's pretty much what my job is this summer, except with forests and rivers. I've been running around a lot trying to get ready for it. My boots absolutely killed me (Asolo Fugitives - $130). And right now I'm afraid I might need a new sleeping bag (150+). Anyone got any recommendations?

I'm personally a water bug, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, rafting and things like that. Of course I camp and hike a lot as well, and would like to get into climbing but the intial entry cost is really high.

Initial entry cost just goes up more and more. Then again can't really put a price on your life

Well you don't need a 150$ sleeping bad, you can get good ones that do the same thing for 75ish. As for boots I couldn't tell you anything more then shop around or get some of those gel bottoms!
