Pop Goes the Dilute

Back to Common Grounds.

It's gone! You people finally got your way wink.gif Personally I was hoping for a change to make it temporary, but whatever. The skill that replaced it is interesting... it's based on one Soll and I submitted (shh, don't tell people what it is if they don't know) and it might be a little more difficult to use than we imagined but I think it'll still be an interesting add-on to Aquamancer combat...

I'll have to try it out some later and see how well it works in actual fights smile.gif I have this little suspicion it might be better for Dreamweavers than Runists but I could be wrong.

Hrm.

Does look rather spiffy.

*cackle* I love it, that's a cruel way to die... from an Aquamancer perspective. Just waiting for a transcendent skill update now.
Ethelon2005-05-12 12:46:47
Someplace inside Ceres dies a little for knowing she has no reason to return to the Aquamancers.
Acrune2005-05-12 13:15:48
I definatly like the changes. They make me warm and fuzzy inside. Thanks to all who contributed ideas for the changes. wub.gif

The wicca changes were a bit sad, but oh well. They were useful, just a bit disapointing.

Very disappointing.

The biggest change we wanted did not go through. That was changing spores so that either only Wiccans could use them, or only Totem users could use them. How irritating. It's not like I can pick up a random tarot card, like a hermit tarot, and toss it.
Erion2005-05-12 13:36:10
If I were a tarot user, it's not like I can spend one power for 25 some hermits. tongue.gif
Rauros2005-05-12 13:44:42
That'd be nice. I wouldn't have to chase down palettes. tongue.gif

Well the changes to your submission were by me. It had to be balanced out to insure that we had a chance of receiving it. I agree that dreamweavers will have a better chance at accomplishing it, but it will really shine in group combat.
Thorgal2005-05-12 14:46:41
Here's the aquamancer's new instakill:

First they get you frozen, then they fry you, then they freeze you forever.

I hope you were just testing, because getting you frozen and below half-health is not something that should be easily accomplished on a good healer.
Thorgal2005-05-12 14:56:53
I was testing, but at the speed a merian or mugwump can freeze, together with the demesne and some runes, it'll be really easy.

I disagree completely. Was he able to freeze you immediately after he pointed his staff, or did you just make the log look like it was possible? Considering that Merian recovery on point staff is about 3.6 seconds, a person should have plenty of time to sip fire, sip health, and eat sparkleberry. Also, the aquamancer has to get lucky and have Needlerain strip the correct defense, in order to be able to get the person to the frozen state from one cast of freeze. It is not going to be real easy to accomplish on a person, unless that person is a terrible healer.

Group combat is another story...
Thorgal2005-05-12 15:07:40
Dude that log was a test, I didn't cure anything...I'm just saying it'll be a lot easier to pull off than say...sacrifice, or judgement, or soulless, since it is instant..you can't just tumble out to avoid it.

Your demesne has two abilities that make it easier for you, needlerain strips fire, and the freeze effect strips fire, or freezes if you're not protected by fire. Then add active freezing, runes and illusions to stick it.

And they go and nerf chasm. I love how everyone thinks objectively.
Unknown2005-05-12 15:13:03
I'm just irritated by spores.
Soll2005-05-12 15:15:32
Ooer. happy.gif Happy my skill got chosen.

You've only got your envoy to blame for that though, he suggested the downgrade.
Revan2005-05-12 15:27:51
Envoys suggest other things too, but they never get implemented, Thorgal, no matter how good they are.
