How many people have Lover's tarot or peace? You're talking about skills that only Guardians or Mages can have, what about warriors? Running and flying and others can be applied to other instant kills, so that point is moot. Instantkills like Judgment, which is perhaps the closest to Chasm still can be stopped by web/prone/sleep, where as Chasm cannot. This in itself makes it far better than anything else, including Soulless due to the fact that you don't have to use at least half a minute to prepare. I don't see why you can't admit that Chasm is great and the new Aquamancy ability, though possibly powerful in the right hands, cannot even come close to par with Chasm? Considering that they in fact -downgraded- Chasm should possibly give you a hint that maybe the admins are agreeing that it's too good? I dunno, possibly.

Well I'm glad the acquas got a nice instakill but if they get that maybe its not too much to ask for shield to stop freezing and needle rain?

Last time I checked 5 + 5 = 10 and that would be the exact numbers from chasm. Now, adding 1 to each of those would make it 6 + 6, which if I math is correct would be 2 seconds longer, or 12 seconds.

I'm glad Chasm got downgraded too, a certain Geomancer bitched to me, and I told that certain Geomancer that it was too powerful with our demesne.
Now, maybe they'll upgrade Geomancer's staff damage. Or runes.

Shield smash sounds like an interesting skill... smashdoors should be implemented, chopdoors too, chop shield as well.

Shield should stop ALL demesne effects period, just like it stops all guardian attacks. That would be one step to balancing demesnes. I'm pretty sure all Druid effects are already stopped by shielding.

I think shieldsmash is usable if your not a mean person. If someone is using a shield. I sometimes give it a rap or two of shieldsmash. It is often enough to get the person to remove their shield, but not enough to fully smash it. I think...
