how evil
Bricriu2005-05-13 06:04:05
I was interested in seeing the changes, but now I'm just pissed off. I want to know what IDIOT envoy suggested this, so we can go and let off some steam by ripping them to shreds a few dozen times.
idiotic .
idiotic .
Maedhros2005-05-13 06:04:13
No more laziness! Work damnit . I remember the good ole Achaean days where I'd walk all the way to Inbhir Ness as a Monk with full supplies (food etc) or have to ask people to mail me food; I'd hibernate at Inbhir Ness for days making gold before I make that brutally long walk back (Or I could get a portal sometimes if I got really lucky), then I classchanged to Mage cause I was tired of walking and didn't relize that you lost 50% of your lessons, so my Trans Tekura Virtuoso Kaido become like 75% of Elementalism so I quit .
Revan2005-05-13 06:04:14
You still lose power on a failure *shrug*
Elryn2005-05-13 06:04:19
Jesus.
On a lighter note, imagine the Gods bracing themselves for posting about THIS.
Could we be allowed one concession, perhaps, that mutual allies can teleport/summon without power cost?

Any way that teleport nexus could be set back to free? Kind of channeling off the power of the nexus instead of your own personal Power? We are all connected to it in some facet, and I think it would be a nice compromise.
Personally, this pisses me off. I stood on Ethereal the other day as Narsrim tried to summon me about 150 times in 30 minutes, and really had no complaints about it. You have now taken away my desire to be here now, as I don't want to walk to every bashing area and NOW walk back home.
Whichever envoys voted for this should be replaced immediately, as I don't think a majority of the population is gonna like this change. Some parts good, some parts VERY bad.

You'd rather not add skills, but you don't mind completely altering travel? *mutter* WTF, this is insane. Whoever suggested it needs seriously hunted.
Just what I thought. I LIKED travel before this. What's more, I LIKED how novices didn't have to know their way around everywhere to get where they want, but could have special transport so easily. Meh. Well, this doesn't drastically REMOVE things per se, just makes it a bugger.117190
At least get rid of the damn cows so we can sprint properly. *eye*
Jasper2005-05-13 06:06:08
But you do not lose power if the target is on a monolith, but for teleport. Haven't tried summon.

Please tell me who the I have to kill.
Athana2005-05-13 06:07:46
I guess I'll start using this autowalker now
Sylphas2005-05-13 06:08:26
Totem return is 6 seconds. I might move mine off of Ethereal at that speed, and since it's cheaper than teleport.
It's nice that it's useful, but nerfing teleport wasn't the best way to do it.
Failed teleports don't use power, at least for monolith failures.

Oooohhhhhh, yes, let's make all the transportation abilities cost power! Flow should cost 3! Mushrooms should cost 10p to summon! Any other teleportation skill should cost 15! Heck, let's make PORTAL EXIT (city or commune) cost 20% of your reserves!
Elryn2005-05-13 06:13:53
I don't particularly like this change at all, but maybe it will be good for the game in the long run. As some have said, it will redefine distance in Lusternia.
Meh, who knows. There's no need to get upset over it, we'll certainly adapt.
I find I'm surprisingly not that troubled by the change. I guess all those Faeling changes have really helped me deal with downgrades quite well.
Ruin Flow and it might be a different story though.

I thought envoy reports dealt mainly with guild skills. Why did an envoy report that effects everyone in the basin go into effect like this?
Bricriu2005-05-13 06:16:43
So much for a good skill for newbies getting lost in world - seeing as novices almost NEVER have power reserves.

That is the main thing that worries me about this.
Sylphas2005-05-13 06:20:00
I don't know anywhere that lets novices link. So no teleport for them. I LOVED teleport as a novice. Now, it's easier to just set up sprint aliases, and msg them those.
Bricriu2005-05-13 06:21:12
If, that is, you have lowmagic.

Just kill all the envoys and accept collateral damage?
Unknown2005-05-13 06:21:41
Everyone, to the IRC chat, and message Blastron a simple message saying why you do not like this change. He will be compiling them all, and emailing Lusternia support.
